It's gorgeous, but it ain't Fallout/Wasteland. Sharp knees that ruin my immersion like knowing with that much vegetation finding clean food and water is going to be relatively easy as opposed to scavenging packaged old world forms of it.
Could plant life after a nuclear war still be irradiated? Meaning it grows but we cannot eat it? I know Chernobyl has plant life growing, but I doubt it would be good for consumption. Same with the water supply.

Just a curious question I have.

Just a curious question I have.
A quick google search comes up withthis.

It claims that most of the real danger at Chernobyl passed within a few years as far as agriculture was concerned with only a few areas remaining problematic (Still not 100% safe though). Chernobyl was also far worse than any single nuclear weapon would be.Thismakes the claim that Chernobyl leaked 7 tons of waste into the area so unless you're dropping a few thousand bombs into an area it's probably not likely to have as much of a long term effect as Chernobyl has had.

Anyone dove into Far Habor yet? Loved Fallout 4. Although I cruised through most of the single player story missions and while I monkey'd around a bit, I think I have about 40-50 hours in and didn't do nearly everything I could have. (If you can). But Valentine was one of my favorite characters.
Yes Ut it's fantastic and chalk full of story. I did a great side quest murder who dun it already at the cliff side motel. So far I'm really enjoying it when I can play of course. Also the Church of Atom is great.

I kind of want to wait until I finish this playthrough, or at least till I take over the Institute just to see how that synth character in the new DLC may react.

It's fucking awesome if you went Institute.

Sounds good, I'm planning on starting over and trying Survivor mode. Got burnt out on Black Desert and Doom was fun for 2 nights.

Looks like it starts up right after you break into Kellogg's house. When I left Diamond city while following Dogmeat on the next step of the Kellogg quest it gave me the quest. Not sure if there's a level requirement to get it . I had to be level 12 before I got the automatron quest, I'm 20 now.
Good because I'm not far past that despite putting in well over 100 hrs in my save game and being over level 70

I went to play, but all my mods apparently are outdated, so my character was naked (was wearing custom armor previously) and he no longer had a lightsaber ;(

On the upside, Piper was naked too because I kitted her out in the same stuff.

That's why I'm waiting until all the DLC and stuff is done until I really go crazy with mods. For now I'm just using graphical enhancements and mods that unlock more things to decorate settlements with.

Ok so I went to see the first NPC on the edge of the world but was getting tired so saved and quit there and will start the DLC tonight. Looking forward to more of this. And of course, Valentine rocks.

I dunno what they've done to this game, but when it came out I could play it in 1440p on two 970s in sli at 80+ fps with dograys off and things like motion blur and shit that I hate turned off but everything else maxed.

Now I'm struggling to keep 40fps. Its like the game doesn't fully utilize the GPU or CPU for some reason. Its ridiculous.

You can travel back to commonwealth whenever but I might recommend wearing power armor or bringing a shitton of rad x because it's crazy radation there.

I'm part of the crowd that can't even play it anymore. It crashes when I try to load a save or a new game. Exits to desktop without any crash notification.

Tried updating all mods, checked order, disabling all mods except official ones, verified the game on steam, all drivers are updated, disabled steam overlay. Even tried the various window compatibility modes, no difference. Worked fine before Far Harbor was added.

Only change I can see to add to the problem is between windowed and full screen mode. When using full screen I just get a black screen where my computer locks up with a black screen and a loading icon. Have to close the game from the task manager then. In windowed mode, it gets to the menu, but quits when trying to load.

As I stated in the steam forums, I think Bethesda should be able to afford a new engine with all the money they save on not bugtesting their games, dlc or patches.

Apparently the DLC is also filled with crash bugs for both PC and PS4 for the people who can actually launch it.

I've spent the majority of the past two days doing every permutation of fiddling with the .ini files possible to fix it, and nothing works. I've taken resolution down to sub 1080p and get no performance increases.

I dunno what they've done but they've definitely fucked something up big time sometime since November.

All my drivers are up to date, I've tried the Nvidia Optimization settings (which put Dograys to Ultra, which everyone knows destroys the framerate in the title!) as well.

There's nothing to be done at this point, I think. I'm about to give up.

Also the changes to Survival are garbage. Great ideas, horrendous implementation. The whole game should have been balanced around that mode in terms of world design if they were planning to put it in.

I'm certain at this point the problem is that the game is no longer fully utilizing the GPU for some reason.

Nvidia Inspector is telling me that the power usage is only like 40%, the temp isn't going above 40 degrees C, the GPU load says that its utilizing 80-90% on both cards but I don't believe it.

I don't have the coding know how to figure out what the underlying problem is, but the lack of utilizing the GPU properly is a clear symptom.
