Sounds like I'm just unlucky then. I've seen the same 2 pieces of unique armor on the caravan every time I see her - assumed she didn't reset like the other merchants.
Uniques are completely static. Same vendors, same world locations, same quest reward, etc. Allegedly the weapon/armor emporiums have a chance to sell randomly generated legendary items, and from what I read in the guide, using a special rank 4 NPC as the vendor increases that chance. I might just cheat myself up Cap Collector 2 and test it out, because I am certainly not wasting perks on barter prices when I already have far more caps than I will ever spend.

Why can't we scrap these legendary/unique/STARRED items?! I have a fucking million ones that I'd love to get rid of. Am I missing an option somewhere? Should I just dump them into the field?

Yea I'm pretty sure you have to just toss them on the ground somewhere, or sell them. Kinda stupid you can't just scrap them.

Yeah 90% of them are trash. But I have some gems I use all the time. a 10MM with 25% bonus damage, a 10MM with stagger, the Jet effect chest piece when <50% hp, 10% VATS discount armpiece.

Also just got a double shot Assault Rifle. Which should make killing skull mobs easy as fuck when I mod it up.

I got a legendary pipe pistol with "+10 energy damage, and can turn enemies into goo".
some of you might know this already, but to confirm.
I modded it with a stock rifle grip. Making it a rifle.

the damage now lists at +16, the tooltip thus does give the damage with rifleman, or other perks included. and, of course that +damage scales with rifleman as well.

gooifying gives nuclear material.

ps, tuco you answered your hubflower question awhile ago. but I just found a bunch of hubflower at the asylum, thought I would note it.

Entered this lab, pretended to get "recruited for a job" by the robot secretary. All the scientist were locked in and ordered to finish research, by the military. All dead and ghouls there now, but a cool side part of the quest to get out, was collect all these different chemical agents from around the building, identifying them in a machine, then using the right agents(in this case the computer told you which were right, might of been more interesting if it didn't or different combos gave a different result) in the same machine that then applies to them a power armor chest piece(which you watch through a window), which you then receive via little receptacle on the side. Thought it was kinda cool

I tried putting in different chemicals after I did the right ones, but wont let you run the machine anymore ;(

Just finished building, upstairs was loot galore, tons of filing cabinets, phones/typewriters and the guy in charge(one who got the call from Colonel to keep everyone locked up) was still locked in his office and turned into a ghoul. Had a + limb dmg magazine on his desk :p

I love all the lore you get from terminals, holotapes and letters/notes. Apparently for this place, the military told the director that they would only come rescue them if they were "vital" to war effort, if they asked for help without that they would be executed for treason. So the director locked everyone in(including his wife) to finish the research but the workers started to try fight to escape. One rogue worker was hacking systems to try and unlock doors. The director ending up turning into a ghoul from the radiation leak + bullet wound in his shoulder(he got when he left the building after the nuke to try and get a ham radio + supplies). Was cool to read through all the terminals and slowly piece the story together to figure out what happened with this building.

I try to, makes it a bit more interesting. Especially in this type of game, where a lot of the building/locations have their own little stories that are sometimes linked to the outside world. Like the first bunker I found :
Where they were training children to fight(had it attached to a middle school to separate them from parents) and killed anyone that was older then like 15, even had a mock up of a diner/apartment down inside it
The terminals, holotapes, notes/letters really do add a lot to the lore, along with if you listen to npcs talk(and not just when you are directly talking to them).

I had great expectations regarding this game, and god damn they exceeded them somehow. Only thing I can do a slight whine about is the radio stations and the meager new music (throwing in music from FO3 and FO:NV....really?), but thats about it. Very very happy camper here.

Is anyone able to tell me why I can't send all companions to the same location? Certain spots are not able to be selected whenever I want to change them out. Any idea why this might be the case?

And, Piper is some A++ voice acting. Cait and Curie too.

Losing track of companions is fucking AIDS. Complete design oversight. I keep them all in the original cluster of settlements but still. God damn it is stupid.

Not a huge fan of the Shotguns but I found this last night and modded it a little bit and now I love it at close range. (Survival level 20+)

Certain weapon traits pretty much trivialize all content. Double Projectile is probably the worst culprit of this. The bleeding gun is nice, but would be fine if it was on a bolt action or something.

I have an assault rifle with double projectile on it and with mods/perks it does like 300 dmg a shot. Use it with PsychoJet and there is nothing you can't kill before it stops.

Too bad there's no "double swing", at least from what I've seen, for melee, to match double shot for guns.

It might not be nearly as useful, but I think melee with reduced VATS gear and a reduced VATS weapon would be extremely powerful since they don't consume ammunition. That's balanced by the fact that VATS sucks now though, lol. If you had infinite VATS with melee I still think you'd die against tough mobs.

Bethesda is notorious for bad balancing, but I think they've outdone themselves. The weapons that are obviously broken:
-Double barreled shotgun with unlimited ammo capacity (mine shoots 12.5 shells a SECOND)
-Shotguns with any kind of bullet effect (6 pellets per shell).
-Fast firing guns with bleed (bleed stacks and ignores enemy armor mitigation)
-Fast firing guns with other bullet effects
-The double firing weapons

Balancing those is just as obvious:
-Make unlimited ammo capacity only available on guns it makes sense for (everything but double barreled shotguns!)
-Reduce the effect of bullet effects on shotguns
-Make bleed not stack
-Make weapon effects tied to weapon damage rather than constant. So weapon effects aren't useless on bolt action rifles and OP on fast firing ones
-Remove the double firing weapons, it's dumb anyway.

I'll probably store my broken weapons and use normal ones, much like I did in Skyrim where in my first playthrough I exploited the circular crafting system to make some god-gear and then stashed it and eventually ran around with basic leather armor and no shirt like a true blooded viking.

I got the most well known random encounter in the Fallout games yesterday:

I am doing a BoS escort quest during the night in the western part of the map, i got Danse with me and a Brotherhood scribe. While i am heading to the site a small spaceship in flames flies over us and goes to crash somewhere east of us. Danse says "let's go investigate", i somehow nail exactly the crash site from the trajectory and find the spaceship burning among the trees due south of the Beantown Brewery but no sight of a dead alien or loot, only something that looked like a patch of green blood. I knew there should be something around there, so i spent almost half an hour running around and trying to find something. Finally i find a cave to the northeast of the crash site with an alien hiding inside, immediately he goes aggro (only lv1 though) and he drops the Alien Blaster pistol and lots of ammo for it. Stats for the pistol are something like 50dmg and 100rof. Not many mods you can put on it, but there is a Fusion Mag one that lets you switch the ammo type to fusion cells. No idea if this encounter is tied to Luck as it used to be in previous games, mine is only 3.

got a "wounding" combat shotgun last night. 25 bleed damage. Called it a night before putting it to the test. I do wonder if its going to be 25x6 bleed.

But yeah, this is also part of the difficulty thing. tons of garbage legendaries, and a few silly OP ones. if you win the crap shoot, the game is easy, if you don't hard luck.
one good aspect is the npcs use the weapons against you, if they can.. But, at the same time, often they carry it, but dont use it, due to incapability. aka, I got my wounding combat shotgun off a dog..

Tuco. You're right. Swan's homing rocks are fucking bullshit. God damn lol.

I am disliking how CLEARED areas will remove the tag eventually.

I laughed for awhile when I randomly found the Vault-Tec Sales Rep from the intro. Ghoulified and alive for 200 years, he was sad he had no friends and now sells armor back in Sanctuary and is back to his overly chipper self.

Have any of you found out what to do with the Slocum's Coffee Bites recipe? It must be for something..

Edit: @Caliane. With the amount of silly OP weapon types there are and the amount of Legendary creatures you find on Survival. Its only a matter of time before you get one. I've had several really strong ones and still use the Stagger 10MM I got at lvl 9 or something as my primary weapon for just about everything.

I only just recently got the Double Projectile Assault Rifle. I'd argue that combo drugs like PsychoJet REALLY trivialize encounters even without OP weapons.

I've also decided to sell all my jet. Psycho/medx and others aren't too bad, but jet is an IWin button and it's really easy to get.
