As a non-reader of comics, F4 was probably the worst of the entire comics-to-theater translations for me. I can tell this objectively because it was popular enough to get a movie, yet so bad that I wanted to throw up before leaving the theater. The movies have generally been awful, the chemistry was laughable and the entire first movie was an emo 'nobody loves me' drama from four different perspectives. How is this going to change my mind?

I just got done reading the Ultimate Enemy, Ultimate Mystery & Ultimate Doom arcs from 2011. They would make an interesting movie, except it would take a LOT of introductions of different characters. Still, the books were good. Seeing Reed Richards as like.. a worse Dr. Doom was interesting.

They need to do this, while also giving him a Steve Jobs type attitude toward parking in handy capped spots, just because.

The first two movies had some redeeming qualities and stayed mostly within the well known aspects of the better known parts of the comics. Casting was actually really solid, outside of Doom. Most of the issues with the first two movies centered around bad pacing, shitty dialog, and the complete bastardization of Doom and Galactus. I think Sony took the wrong lesson from the weak returns on those movies and are trying way to hard to completely reinvent things, Xtreme!!!!11!!!1 style with ALL of their movies from Toby SM3 onward. This new movie looks like a dumpster fire in the making.

Why even bother having a licensed IP if your intent is to essentially erase most of it? Well at least this will either be a massive success of total reimagining of the concept or such an epic failure that FOX may just abandon it entirely
