Showgirls is IMO a good satire movie, only it has questionable writing, bad direction, awful production (IIRC 3 studio execs for the whole flick) and partisan cast (yeah it's objectively bad). It's not one of my preferred movies and it's clinically bad, but I respect Verhoeven mostly because he was trying to break Hollywood's business rules model at the time, while forcing itself into the production scam.
Showgirls is inherently a bad film, mostly because Verhoeven tried to make a point in Hollywood, which he failed. I love him and I praise his works, but that was a jerk move, in my opinion.
