I'm confused by this? My ring isn't finished yet, so haven't tested it out, but isn't the holy damage a counter on the enemy? How would Cecils light immunity matter for that? I thought it worked such as when it procs, it does three unique effects:

Avoids the attack
Hits back with a weak holy nuke
Generates 40 mana

Is that wrong?

The mana return is considered a light elemental 'attack'. It's not even a Gumi fuckup, it's like that on JP too.

Beat the new trial - fights took a long time due to not being able to break some of the bosses, but overall fairly manageable. Ran with friend noctis and my own, so I had 4 full life skills in a pinch (noctisx2 + dual cast Refia).

Super sad the holy lance didn't drop this patch. Really wanted it for Elza :(

I hadn't even bothered looking at story mode yet, but I can't believe they cut Zoldaad up into three fucking parts. Well I can believe it because Gumi is a complete dumpster fire of a development studio.

Weird, not sure how I misread that.

Anyway, I still don't see why I'd want to change my current team around for her. Lightning already got ejected from my arena team because I don't like to use any attack that Cecil can cover, and at the moment I don't even use Noctis' stop. I'm chaining fire with Fire Flask, 2x DC Firaga, and Phantom Shadow (Chizuru with Chirijiraden). Doesn't matter that Ribbons are getting more common now and block Fire Flask's debuffs, because nothing survives anyway.

Edit: No Odin either, right? Fucking Gumi...

Dunno what to tell you bro, nobody uses caster-gib teams any more on JP. Enemy team goes first and stops one or two of your units, now your caster chain isn't strong enough to OTK and they get another turn and potentially more stops.

Meh, I only need three to kill off the other team in almost all cases anyway. A Cecil or CoD--who is rarely seen anymore--might survive, but who cares? Right now I win 100% of the time if I go first, and 99% of the time if I go second (averaging about one non-crash loss every 2 weeks, even counting really shit rules weeks like no dualcast or black magic). If that goes up to one or two a week, so be it.

So I'm on the trial on memu (mistake I see now) and I crash on turn 8 with no deaths. Log back in, GREAT turn 1 again.

Switching between devices to play can cause funky results. I got to bring a companion with me in the arena for a few hours once day.

Those are used to promote previously capped at 4* units to 5* when they get an upgrade (such as Krile, Kain, etc).

These days, a unit's either 6* or obsolete, so those upgrade materials are almost worthless. Maybe stock up on 20 of each just in case so you never have to farm the awakening vortex, but skipping them entirely is fine too.

I just dumped 2000 lapis to expand another 100 unit slots and bought all the cactuars. Feels bad man.

Nope, only old units that got a 5* upgrade. From memory, I think that's Kain, Krile, Rydia, Galuf, and soon, Maria.

Other than those very few promotions, I think they're worthless? Someone correct me if I'm wrong here!

Yeah absolutely buy some rays and drops now. Starting around FF6, every single 4* base will require those mats to awaken to 5* but that's not for a while so drops/rays should do you for now.

Grabbed 39 of each. Saving up for accessory and I'm done with this events farming.
Do the orbs carry over?

I like being able to do the PRO farm event when your Seven is up for grabs. Hilarious what you put on her.
