as stated above, Lightning will carry you for a good while. You won't be able to clear the hardest part of weekly events for quite a while, that's ok.

I suggest spending your lapis on 250 daily pulls, maybe a 10+1 on a future banner if it's good. that will start building your army of characters and give you options in the future. biggest thing holding you back now is getting a 6* characters in your party. Once you get there, then you'll want to focus on getting TM rewards, usually best equipment. don't spend lapis to refill energy until you're much higher level. You don't have any TMs that are really necessary right now anwways. Zidane's dual wield is pretty boss, but you don't have a character that needs it.

Everything I've read suggests that you should not start Lapis Refresh TM farming until a BARE minimum of Rank 60.

FWIW I did a round of Lapis TM farming for shits and it cost me around 12,000 Lapis @ Rank 60-70.
Only working on TMs of characters I have 5 units of now.

I've had zero issues with Nox on either of my 2 computers. Just need to make sure to allocate CPU and MEM to the Nox VM.

I think it depends on your characters. When I pulled Gilgamesh, i was around rank 40? No zidane, so no dual wield. I spent lapis to get Gilg's glove and don't regret it. It was an instant huge jump in my physical damage and really pushed me over the edge in completely many of the events.

As others have said, don't worry about Trust Mastery Rewards just yet. They are a long term goal and you have a lot of content to keep you busy for awhile.

The main thing to focus on is getting levels and Awakening your primary units. Get Lightning maxed ASAP and you will be in good shape for a long time. She's lost a bit in standings to other units but she's still one of the best units for a new player right out of the box. For example, Noctis is considered the best Global unit right now in Global but he takes a lot of work to unlock that potential. Lightning, on the other hand, is good to go right after being pulled. Just get her to a 6 star level 100 as soon as possible and funnel gear to her first.

After you catch up a bit you can worry about TMRs. But you have awhile before you should start to worry about them.

Yeah with an innate DWer you definitely don't need to worry about TMs any time soon, she can carry you through a lot of content once she hits 100.

For a quick and easy 82 attack sword, find a friend Noctis with 800+ attack linked to Ifrit and go into the Vortex of Trials -> Chamber of the Fallen -> Rebirth of the Intangir and have that Noctis use Warp Break. Should one shot the boss due to power creep, and you get Enhancer sword as a reward.

Once you level your Lightning some, equip that sword and go into Farplane Tower of Earth and kill the White Dragon for a 61 atk katana.

Dark Fina's counter ability is hilarious in Arena. Nice to have to make sure I don't go to a second round when the other team goes first. I think I may end up having a seizure one of these days when Ultima and Meteor are going off at the same time thought.

Espers - just got my first siren one, should I use any of the leveling items on her or wait for a better one?

Friends - any thing dictate which friends show? Seems if I use one of the 3 good ones I have they go away for awhile?

Dark Slime on SoM Pro - am I fucked not being able to Kill? Looks like dark damage and exdeath is my only dark damage and no friends have it. I have all the mats for lightinings 6 star so should be good I guess.

Leveling - is exp split? So when I do get enough. Gold to 6 star her tonight should I just do matches with her and friend to lvl faster ? Or should I be keeping people in for what looks like insanely long TM grinds (zildaine .4 !!!)

yes, this event is kind of a punch in the crotch that way. I can switch my friend unit to M. Fina and you should be able to clear pro with no trouble, but you'd need to buy turbo ethers from king mog to use her to solo ELT because you can't buy turbos from a store until you're farther in the story.

Can only use the same companion every 3 hours or so.

Or now that I think about it, I could probably just set my Noctis up to solo the event and then you wouldn't even need turbo ethers thanks to point warp.

Save your esper megacite to level Ifrit and Diabolos first. Those are the two most useful, though Odin comes out very soon, and he's better than both. Also check a guide before buying their skills, there's no way to respec so you can permanently fuck yourself if you do something like missing the important stuff.

Friends have a 4-8? hour cooldown before the same one can be used again

Slime boss has massive physical defense, but melts to magic damage. A Noctis's Thunder Flask can still take him out in two turns if the Noctis is geared well.

Exp from missions is split among your units yes, but the friend unit doesn't take a cut. Gigantuars are by far the best way to level, but if you grind it out the old fashion way, yes running a mission solo + a friend is more xp

Gold is only a problem your first week. Soon you will have infinite.

To explain TM's in a bit more detail, there's a few ways to gain TM.

For one, pulling duplicate units and fusing them together adds a flat +5% per duplicate unit. Some TM's you want multiple copies of (like dual wield), so before fusing duplicates, make sure you have at least 1 per TM you want remaining.

There's also units called trust moogles, which add a flat +5% or +10% per moogle when fused. Moogles are given as login rewards, monthly arena rewards, and typically one or two per weekly event.

There's also grinding out the TM. Each mission has a 10% chance to add +0.1% trust to a unit that participated. Grinding out TM's this way is only for the hardcore types that want to absolutely min/max their teams. This process can be automated with emulators and macros, and unlike most games, Gumi allows it so you won't risk being banned or anything. Spending your energy to grind TM is something you do after you've 100% completed all current content and have nothing better to do with your energy, which is a long ways off for you right now. It takes something like 10,000 energy to finish a team of 5 TM's, which is about 5 weeks doing it F2P, or 4 days if you lapis refresh. Not even the craziest do this manually, it's something you do overnight while sleeping.

Even if you don't want to bother with grinding TM (most players don't) then you still get TM's over time just by moogles from events / rewards.

Speaking of TMs, I am disappointed that I didn't manage to get Nox fixed* sooner, and now I'll at best have the weapons, chest armor, and materia ready to go for 6* Firion. A pair of Snow accessories and Hayate's hat are still a long way off, and I only will have the fist done because I pulled a second Xiao off-banner and doubled up on her for a merge. On the plus side, at least I haven't bought the gigantuars yet and will be able to get him to 100 instantly. Still not sure if he can really replace Gilgamesh as finisher without enhancements, but it's pretty hard to find a Gilgamesh whale friend most of the time anyway. Just tons of Noctii and Warp Break is a terrible finisher.

*-Not really fixed at all, just a newer version of the macro that doesn't click on the Report button after a crash and actually restarts the game. The app itself still crashes all the fucking time.

It's a shame because Noctis is one of hte best cappers in the game on JP, although the doublehand changes probably cost him a rank or two. Here's hoping Gumi eventually reverts their nerfs because GL Noctis is destined for the trash can.

I'm ready for this week of arena to be over. Banning recovery moves while status ailments are still legal is absolute garbage. Higher matches are being decided by the coin toss.

Equip Paralyze, Stone and Blind resist gear? I'm having zero issues this week.
Gilg, Ling, Luneth, Exdeath, Dark Fina is my team...

The only failures I had this week were due to mistakes on my part. (IE: Accidentally pressing attack when attempting to swipe to select a skill)

Vorph I have a 703 ATK Gilg (Excal, Sakura, Genji) right now which I'll set as my friend unit if you want access. Assuming I have decent pulls this week with the FF2 banner I should be able to get a few TMs to push that up (Still working on Chizuru TM right now...)

Im not wearing any status resist gear and I haven't lost a match yet. I'll take 52 weeks of this before I'd take even 1 week of no dualcast or black magic.

As mentioned, status resist gear is the way to go.

My 2 Exdeaths wear gold amulet, grand helm, etc for immunity to most statuses that matter.
Ling's naturally immune
I have a ribbon at around 88%, so soon my Noctis will be immune
Ring of Lucii is at like 94%, and once that's done, Refia will be a permament arena member with dualcast Altema, also naturally immune w/ Headband

Random tip for the distant future, don't fuse all your Hayates. While his 6* is pretty shitty, it does gain reduce encounters which is very handy when you start stacking it with other Hayates/charm bangles/diabolos

Is there content in the future where removing all encounters would be useful? I mean, besides saving 20 seconds on the 2x earth shrine explorations for the daily quest, how often do we really go into explorations these days aside from powerleveling a unit (where you want encounter up instead).

Probably easier to just buy 3 more charm bangles from the fat chocobo for 20 SQ each instead of spending the resources to level 3 low tier units to 6* if encounter zero is useful later.
