I believe Gilgamesh has an insta-KO ability. That is probably what killed Cecil. As for the rest of the team, it must have been a debuff he slapped on you before he unloaded.

On a side note, I encountered a glitched Nimbus today. Started the round with Steal, then I used Chizurus LB to kill the soldier and guarded with everyone else. Nimbus proceeded to KO 2 units. Next round, I guarded with everyone. Again, Nimbus KO'd 2 units. Last round, Chizuru used Hayate and luckily Nimbus did not attack and just ran away. Weird. I would have been pretty mad if I was wiped on the last round because of that.

If you have White Knight Noel, you can give him 100% Earth Resist by giving him Golem + Gaia Gear.

I wish Snow could wear robes.

There is an equip clothes materia, you could use that for robes I think?

There are KOs during Transitions.

It cannot be dodged. The only way it can be avoided is when Safety Bit is released with Mysidia mog king.

Just to state it. Freya TMR DOES NOT PREVENT INSTANT DEATH.

I have a near maxed out Olive right now up as friend unit for Gilgamesh if anyone cares. Few friends and I are working on OTK so its up for that.

Do you need more than 2 Olives to cap for a OTK? My team is Seven/Edgar x2/Olive and then with a friend Olive. I can only seem to get him down to just a bit under half with 2 Olives at around 1100ATK. I think I'm fucking up on the chain, only tried it like 2x so far cuz of work.

I just tried it real quick to see it play out. Got wrecked at around 50%, totally not prepared for it. Was fun to see for now though.

Gilgamesh was datamined and has exactly 270 defense, 240 spirit. You guys trying to OTK him can use that and plug in your units to a spreadsheet to see if it's even possible to deal 1m damage in a turn with chains using your setup.

That said, he's really not too terrible if you have a bunch of TM's, so it's probably easier to just do the fight properly. You have to anyway if you want all the missions (finish with a limit burst).

I enjoyed the fight. I thought it was really well done. Looking back I went in with, what I thought, was a great setup. The problem was the Thunder sealing that got added in. Looking back that's why my first attempt wiped because half my team got paralyzed and I wasn't able to properly recover from the threshold OTK followed by all the paralysis.

OTK comps might look flashy but if you haven't done it the "right" way than you're doing yourself a disservice. It's a very fun and well designed fight.

Oh, I did the fight the proper way, I was just wondering for fucking around. Fight was really fun, I wiped at like 20% on my first "real attempt" because I mis-clicked on Refia and welp, her doing an auto attack completely fucked me lol.

2nd attempt went pretty smooth, I found that putting Demonic Life on Gilgamesh helped a lot. I regret not getting 2 of those. If he died I was in a world of hurt as I was using a similar setup to Sinzar (thanks btw). Ling was very useful for me, love that unit.

Took me 4 tries to do the fight. Honestly would have taken me 1 or 2 had I taken it seriously.
Completely underestimated the facefuck a Threshold could be.

1st go, wiped after 30% threshold. might have forgotten to thunder attack? 2nd go, forgot to switch weapons. only "fire" attack was companion Noctis. didn't make it but 2 rounds after 50%.

i think this might be easier than the last one w/ no white magic.

Fuck ya baby, 5 pulls 2 Ramza's I'm done. So funny I told myself 25k lapis is max i'm spending regardless as I do want to make sure I spend heavy if/when noct & orlandu come available. Got 1st ramza on 3rd pull and wasn't even going to pull but I was kind of hoping for a few filler units just incase so figured i'd do my full 5 pulls and got the 2nd on 5th. 2 brave suits eventually for my melee units and one long term future proof support unit when enhancements come. I can dig baby~

Looking forward to the next trial, there's some status effects to deal with (confusion being the most dangerous).

It's worth grinding out a ribbon or Tilith/Seven's TM over the next month before it comes if you don't have any yet. They're great for arena anyway, and just good to have in general.

I might need a different strategy. I don't have Dualcast so Refia can't heal through all the damage Snow takes. It might be better just to have everyone take damage instead of him Provoking the whole time.

If you're not relying on Snow to seal elements, you can do a rotation of provoke -> guard -> guard to lower his incoming damage by half on 2/3 of the turns, which should help to catch up on healing.

I've seen it posted that counter attacks work to seal elements, so Snow could even seal wind with sonic knuckles or something through his counters, assuming that actually works (I don't know).

FF14 raid event is coming soon and we get Yshtola for free, so you can use her as a healer who comes with dualcast innately.

I did the No Items run this morning with Sinzars Noctis. I used my same team from yesterday and the addition of a sixth unit trivialized the fight. That was the last challenge I needed so I'm done with him.

Also done with the Type Zero event. I bought the 30k Moogle, the Sword, Defense Trinket, the 15% attack materia, and restocked on some Awakening materials I'm running low on. Back to TMR farming. Bracer and Genji Glove should be done in the next day or so.
