People hone shell?

I remember when we got Iai Strike (samurai 30% death proc)--I was super stingy with orbs back then, and never got Death or Odin, etc.--and I S/L'd the heck out of those adds.

I ran the X Cid Mission today. Took about 4 turns - charged up an SB gauge on Tidus, then back-to-back launched a Tidus OSB RW (Powerchain character waiting to push the button ftw) to laugh all the way home. As much as I was on the "OSB's are just sidegrades" train, the DPS with two +Water relics equipped is wicked high - I was hitting 99,999k against everything, and my "OP" Cecil BSB is going to take a lot of turns to make up that difference.

I had my 2nd stop fail on Omega then he cast reflect so my 3rd froze Cloud and I had no Dispel.

Still beat it. I have 4 blind res+attack accessories so no blind. All my 6* gear had synergy. Boss does little damage other than wave cannon for 3k through mitigation.

Took me a few tweaks to get Omega Weapon down but on my kill it was really easy since everything lined up.

Lightning: Thundara Strike and Power Break (Mastery Condition) - SB Crushing Blow
Tyro: Lightning Ninja Scroll and Stop - SB Wall
Lenna: Curaja and Halting Rumba - SB Pride of Tycoon Group Heal (never used)
Ashe: Thundaga and R5 Ixion - SB Maelstrom's Bolt (Lightning Damage + Heal)
Terra: Thundaja and Chain Thundaga - SB her BSB but not used since it's Fire and Water
RW: Sheepsong

What I noticed was that if Stop falls off towards the end of the fight his MND goes WAY up and Stop won't stick any longer. So I figured I would use Tyro with the Scroll to add some damage when that happened. But Lenna kept sticking Halting Rumba on him so he never got out of Stop status and Tyro just helped nuke him down.

Did a pull on the new event since both bsb's were good enough for me. I was shooting for Noel's, but got Serah's, still just my 3rd bsb and my first mage one, so I'm still happy.

FF13 ultimates are out. I was able to master them and complete the cid mission without any reloads.

For the Paradox Alpha Cid Mission, it seemed basic enough. Just save a little bit of burst damage for his orb phases, and definitely bring a medica of some kind, even if it's shared. Cid missions are always a bit risky when you can't bring wall, and this one dealt a lot of incoming damage.

The U++ against Atlas was ultra long. I think most of my units got to use their soulbreaks 3-5 times. The boss didn't seem to do very much damage (after stacking multiple breaks + multiple layers of mitigation), but jeez was he tanky. I only brought one unit with a burst mode, so without Vanille's ether SB refilling the team, I think I would have run out of hones. I did use the tauntilate strategy, which of course mitigated all of his physical damage, although I think maybe it would have been more effective to just use a backrow Cecil with a bow and draw fire (and skip retaliate), that way he could stay in his burst mode and contribute a lot of damage. Oh well, Tyro handled the duty well enough I guess.

Teams I used for the CM and U++:
CM Team:
Snow -- Banishing Strike, Saint's Cross -- no SB
Lightning -- Power Break, Full Charge -- Blazing Rush SB (pure damage)
Fang -- Blood of Wyvern, Leeching Leap -- High Dive SB (-def/res nuke)
Sazh -- Magic Breakdown, Fullbreak -- Shared Shellga SB
Vanille -- Curaja, Protectga -- Medica + Ether SB
RW: Shout

U++ Team:
Tyro -- Retaliate, Draw Fire -- Wall SB
Vaan -- Tempo Flurry, Thief's Revenge -- Ark Blast BSB (-40% mag/def nuke)
Agrias -- Lifesiphon, Blizzaga Strike -- Cleansing Strike SB (-50% atk/mag nuke)
Ramza -- Lifesiphon, Fullbreak -- Shout (+50% atk + hastega)
Vanille -- Curaja, Shellga -- Medica + Ether SB
RW: Garnet's Divine Guardian (+50% res, high regen, hastega)

Yeah Tauntaliate was great, easy bosses if a little long on the last one. BSBs required for Atlas mose likely.

iPad busted on U+ boss urk. Just got a new one hope the transfer goes smoothly. Will try an FFXIII team for U++ but without access to tauntaliate access will probably just follow a standard attack pattern.

CM was pretty easy all things considered - just ran standard team composition with Shout RW, Cid running Memento Mori / DZ raping for 9999x2. Thought I lost when he nuked 2 of my guys down but Power Chain + Dragoon Dive did the trick. Always interesting running FF13 for me since I have an all backrow line up with 2 Guns + Fang Dragoon.

Well, I beat Necrophobe nightmare, but I missed mastery by 1 star due to deaths. This is yet another fight I'm super irritated that I don't have any Gigas Armlets (it's trivialized if you have multiple gigas accessories to reduce like all of the damage). Not sure if I want to keep grinding it to try for mastery, or wait a month to come back with OK.

This is tricky, tried it twice but busy at work.

Initial thoughts:
*Use Ramza with Gigs Armlet/Ele resist gear and Magic Lure. This soaks a lot of damage.

*If you have Tyro SBs then he can't be healer since you'll need AoE healing for the gravity attack. Gordon can be the healer with a shared AoE Cura item. Begginer banner has a guarenteed Ramza AoE 40% heal as an option too for 50 mithril.

*Watch which barrier casts doom at the start of P2, it'll blink. Otherwise you wont known which to attack to dispel it.

*1 doom seems to be the right place to be but reddit is suggesting 3, that's too much damage for me with 6-8* attack armor and accessories. Maybe I should gear for resistance and resists?

If it helps, I've killed necrophobe about 5 times now, but still don't have mastery because EVERY TIME when he's at like 5% health, all 4 orbs + him each do an aoe at the same time, which always kills 2-3 of my units, causing me to lose mastery (he dies like 5 seconds after his rape aoe turn). If I had some gigas armlets, or some actual support relics for someone besides Ramza, it would be fine.

I've been using:
Fran -- dismissal, fullbreak -- fullbreak SB (kinda worthless)
Wakka -- power breakdown, armor breakdown -- no sb
Faris -- magic breakdown, thiefs revenge -- no sb
Ramza -- lifesiphon, mental breakdown -- shout sb
Tyro -- curaja, shellga -- wall sb
RW: Eiko's BSB (medica + 50% phys crit)

Phase 1 is trivial, phase 2 I activate 2 orbs at a time, boss dies before phase 3 (with this setup).

The problem is that I slowly fall behind on healing with shitty Tyro as healer. He uses the medica RW twice in phase 2 to catch up, but before the fight's over, they go apeshit with aoe and no more charges of RW medica, so people die, I lose medals. Adding a single dps relic on the team, or a non-shit healer like onion knight would easily beat this fight with mastery.

Bringing non-synergy healers doesn't work either. Relm dies in about 5 seconds into P2 every time I've tried bringing her. She has 4400 hp with ~280 resist in the best gear I can give her, and 1 big aoe from the boss does ~3500 damage to her, so Tyro is the only option for healing.

FF12 U++ wasn't bad but fairly irritating to do a CM run. Ended up using 4 FF13 characters + Beatrix, who died towards the end. It wasn't too bad with R2 Chain Blizzaga and R4 Blizzara Strike dealing more than enough damage with Vanille's recharge SB.

I... surprisingly 1-shotted the Nightmare Support dungeon... admittedly my Support relics are quite outstanding, but I was really confused at the start and had to pause often to recheck what breakdown to use. In the end Faris BSSB did it for me, hitting for ~30k with 3 dooms twice. My team:

Fran -- Northern Cross R2 / Power Breakdown R4 (-Attack / Magic SB)
Faris - Thief's Raid R3 / Armor Breakdown R3 (BSSB)
Ramza - Life Siphon / Mental Breakdown R3 (Shout)
Gordan - Shellga R1 / Magic Breakdown R4 (- Attack / Magic SB)
Larsa - Full Break R3 / Curaja R5 (No SB) - this guy has support 6 and whm 6, definitely consider him.

RW: Wall

Compound debuff SB's like Gordan and Fran had the interesting effect of triggering 2 Dooms, which was useful because it removed a low doom and added another doom in addition to fairly decent damage. I believe it also reduces their actual damage, but can't confirm this. I had everyone gear for resistance, averaging 300-350 which coupled with wall and shellga was quite manageable. With shout you don't need much more than 400, which is very easily achieveable with full synergy. I didn't use any elemental resist gear.

Larsa basically just kept the heals up with a few lucky double cast procs, didn't use any medica SBs. I did recast Shout 3 times but my RW must have had high mind or something as it lasted fairly long (used it only during P2).

Separate news (previous post was getting long) we're getting a BSSB guaranteed relic lucky (maybe?) draw, in addition to 50 free mythril? DeNA really trying to burn our mythril pre OK! I'm quite happy with the direction they've been going, hopefully the game is doing well for them.

Ok mastered it.

Gear for res/ele res and go for 3 dooms. Heathen Frolic Sarabande dramatically lowers damage from all enemies (Faris or Tyro). Have a character built for DPS.

This is the least fun Nightmare ever for me. I don't enjoy it at all and I'm still trying to beat the dumb thing.

Got him with Mastery.

Basically I ignored the mechanics as much as possible and relied on brute strength.

Cloud: Lifesiphon
Oveila Curaja and Shellga (SB group Curaga and magic Blink)
Ramza Power and Armor Breakdown
Faris Magic Breakdown and the dance that is group magic down
Sephiroth Lifesiphon
RW Wall

Goal was to shut off the orb right away and deal with him as a typical boss. Sephiroth's BSB ignores defense and Cloud built up 3 SB charges for Climhazzard and 2 OSB hits which did over 55k damage even with 4 inactive Orbs. Magic Blink was the final piece of the puzzle for mitigating a ton of damage.

Ok, I mastered Necrophobe nightmare thanks to both some of the info from this thread, and being able to see his actual AI info from reddit.

I was under the impression that this fight was 100% magical, but after seeing reddit AI info, turns out a lot of his damage is both physical and % health based. Knowing that, I adjusted the team to include physical protection and instant death resist accessories. Those changes made it so that Relm could survive even as a non-synergy healer. Of course, Relm + her medica handled all of the healing duties no problem.

The tip about Sephiroth's BSB was also useful. I don't have his bsb, so I used him as a roaming warrior instead. As a RW, it wasn't enough on it's own to deal the required damage, so I had to do a mix of Sephiroth's BSB, and 1-3 dooms active to raise damage. Added to that the tip about AoE magic break dance working helped (for some reason I assumed the orbs were break immune.... doh). Glad I don't have to worry about this one next month when the new NM dungeon comes out.

Video and setup I mastered it with:

Fran -- Power Breakdown, Fullbreak -- Fullbreak SB
Tyro -- Lifesiphon, Protectga -- Wall SB
Faris -- Magic Breakdown, Heathen Frolic Serenade -- no sb
Ramza -- Lifesiphon, Armor Breakdown -- Shout SB
Relm -- Curaja, Shellga -- Medica + Regen SB
RW: Sephiroth's BSB (used by Fran and Faris)

I passed on that LD because of results like yours. Way too much trash on the banner since it wasn't trimmed.

Felt an itch to pull on this FFIV banner. Got 5 rainbow orbs! Neither of the bursts tho.

Edward's Dream Harp (his old Hastega + MAG boost).. A little dated now but I've wanted it for awhile, so I'm still excited about it.

Porom's Feathered Cap, which raises ATK, MND, and crit chance. I already bring Porom to most FFIV content anyway since I had his medica+Hastega. Now I have the option of Edward for Hastega, and can see myself using both Porom soulbreaks depending on the situation.

Tellah's Bomb Core which is... Interesting. Group MAG+ATK boost, which is all the rage these days, but casts doom on himself.

Sweet thing is these all stack with each other.

The other two rainbows were a dupe of the old Porom relic I had, and a FF7 SOLDIER Sword that will probably end up as a Rosetta Stone.

Already had decent FFIV synergy beforehand... PCecil's SSB, Edge's SSB, Rosa's Protectga+Shellga and her Medica+Revive.

Haven't even looked at this Cid mission yet but I bet I should be able to do it. :)
