Agreed, and I chunk it up with the best rpg stories of any franchise too.FFT still has one of the best stories in the entire franchise.
Yeah, 10 had the best combat system imo. It was stellar well beyond the flow and fluidity, though. Every time you invested in a few nodes, you'd notice your party hitting harder, and you'd notice that the turn queue was increasingly dominated by your party. Was just a very satisfying power curve all throughout the game.I think we can all agree FF10 had the best combat system, yes?
I liked 12 a lot too. Once you figured out how to handle the gambit system properly. Despite how much I missed the turn based system of 10, once you got a strong grasp of the gambit system it actually enhanced gameplay quite well. The actual story was meh, but I did like the characters outside of the dumbass kids, who I never used because they're shit.
The problem with Vaan and Penelo stems from the fact that Vaan's story is basically resolved for the most part when you rescue Basch, and Penelo's entire viewpoint is hanging out with Vaan. So really, they should have been nixed when you get Basch and Ashe into the mix. Make it a 4 person system (the game already does this quite often with guests) and voila, you only have people actually involved in the storyline doing stuff in the storyline. Either way, it doesn't change how absurd the entire ending from Pharos onward was in a story sense. With or without the kids, everything from the Pharos at Ridorana onward is still bunk.Yeah I enjoyed the combat in ffx a lot too, but I still enjoyed 12 a lot as well. Vaan and panelo were just strange and it felt awkward having them around.
Had they done this, and made the job system like FFT/Bravely Default instead of either system they eventually went with, that would have made a nearly flawless game, despite the mediocre ending. The problem with Vaan and Penelo stems from the fact that Vaan's story is basically resolved for the most part when you rescue Basch, and Penelo's entire viewpoint is hanging out with Vaan. I have a ps2 and the game still, but it feels weird to pull it out for one gameI'd like a XII remaster. I'd love to give it another chance but don't feel like finding a PS2 or trying to emulate it.
That was exactly what I thought after reading Rezz's summary.I..uhhh.. don't think I made it that far.
That sounds like Japan. If they remake it then the main character will be a giant octopus who's only attack is tentacle rapeAshe was announced as the main character back when FF12 itself was announced. Then they changed it to Bashe because Japanese gamers can't relate to women. Then they changed it/created to Vaan because Japanese gamers can't relate to men.
I can agree to the combat system in 10 being the best for the most part. I don't particularly like how gear was handled, but that is technically not a part of the combat system.I think we can all agree FF10 had the best combat system, yes?

International Sphere grid was really great. The only issue with the original sphere grid is everyone can do everything 100% after awhile, the only difference is weapon types and limit breaks*.I can agree to the combat system in 10 being the best for the most part. The sphere grid was one of the best leveling systems they have come up with. I wouldn't mind if 7 used something like that if they could fit material in somehow
