Did you take the like 100 flights of stairs? I have no idea if the elevator works, I just started climbing 20 flights as a joke and stuck with it. I laughed when the run speed started slowing waaay down. Was worth it for the dialogue.
Yeah I took the stairs. Not sure if I've ever taken the elevator in this version, probably should have tried it to see what happened. Was hilarious how much Tifa outpaced the guys, showing her incredible stamina. I don't think it's possible to outrun her but I'm wondering about that too.
Shinra Tower is really long and drawn-out but it's awesome for people who were into the Shinra corp's mythology in the 90's like I was. The museum etc were cool additions.
Too bad Neo-Midgar was never a thing, it's a pretty amazing design. Got me thinking that Neo-Midgar's design is a lot like Esthar in FF8. Back in the 90's I thought FF8 was the future of FF7's world, if technology kept progressing.
Whats the difference between Rebirth and Remake?
Remake covers about the first 25-30% of the overall story so far, Rebirth covers rhe other 70-75%. Rebirth just picks up where Remake ends.
As far as cosmetic differences, Remake is a fairly linear chapter-based game (where you can't really backtrack or explore, outside of a few parts) while Rebirth is an open world game divided into 6 massive overland zones, where you can freely explore or backtrack at pretty much any point. People there for the story and nostalgia can book it through the main quest of both, while people new to FF7 who just want good gameplay will find a lot more to do in Rebirth.
Only time I could see someone liking Remake more than Rebirth is if they hate open world games and want a linear experience. Other than that Rebirth is the far superior game and Remake primarily functions as its intro first act. Think MGSV Ground Zeros and MGSV Phantom Pain.
