Yeah... Full action combat isn't even possible unless they get rid of summons. There has to be moments where combat can 'pause' to run a cinematic. Unless of course they treat the summons themselves like real time battle participants/spells ongoing while you can perform other actions.

Not some bastardized action RPG? If I want an action game I'll play dark souls or bloodborne (both awesome). Final fantasy action combat had been terrible. Not good RPG or action combat

This is not a new game, this is FF7. They won't get rid of summons unless they want a revolt on their hands.

Ranking order of the good games is something like:

FF8/FF9
FF5/FF4
Where half the people choose the first options and the other half choose the second options.
Nobody is ever going to agree because they value gameplay/graphics vs story/setting to different extents. I hated FF9 because the game play is very basic/linear and graphics worse compared to FF8 which had deep complex gameplay and the most impressive graphics for the time, I am allowed that opinion and it doesn't mean that you aren't allowed to hate the draw system and like FF9 for the music, world design and characters. We are all right I guess, but we've had the argument loads of times on these forums so I think agree to disagree.

Meh. I'd say that IV (two), VI (three) and VII were all excellent. IX had some actually pretty good stuff for the time as well I suppose.

I just hope they re-balance and fun-ify the Golden Saucer minigames. Re-doing that basketball-throw a million times was WAY too stressful.

I'm not sure what people were expecting. Those old JRPG's were done in a very simple art style in isometric projection.
Now they are trying to take the same games, and put triple A visuals, and combat to them.
Takes an army of artists to accomplish that in a very limited time frame, of course they are only going to give you a section of that game while they work on the next section.
Episodic gaming sucks btw.

I'm going to replay the original FFVII and taunt everyone while they wait for the next buggy-ass part of the remake to be released.
