The changes scare me. I really wanted this game to be EXACTLY like it was just so that all the fucking idiot kids who love FF7 because it was the first game they played that wasn't Mario could see how dreadfully average it was, except for the plot which was actually just bad.

I mean, plot aside, what if they make it fun?

Yeah, because no one enjoys turn based combat. I mean games in the 90s and 00s were just terrible.

And I have played it in the last few years, the combat as-is with no updates is still better than any of the recent FFs

Playing through it now... Honestly... Turn based is just too easy for anyone with a high degree of gaming experience. I'm face rolling through this game in a way I certainly never did when I was 14. I think you need that twitch reaction aspect to keep the fights interesting these days. I'm very glad they are revamping the combat system. It's incredibly weak as is.

Mind you, anyone who calls FF7 'average' is either a troll or severely lacks understanding of the gaming/tech climate of the time.

Lets not bullshit ourselves here, FF10 was the best combat system in FF. Say what you will about the rest of the game, the combat was great and turn based done right.

I'll be honest, every game now a days is easy. Even "hard" games like dark souls.

The new action RPG craze isn't any harder. Just like turn based, you can breeze right through them.
