Dear god, I'm only to the western place right now and it's still gay and boring.

Someone said "Soon" it becomes interesting but HOLY SHIT this story is bad. It's been so bland and boring that I've only been able to handle the MSQ a little bit at a time before I'm ranting at how bad it is now.

It's not just the themes being stupid but the dialogue and predictability (or in some cases the absurd out of character moments..) of things is also so incredibly stupid.

I've been goin deep on the addons front and I'm just debating using vnav and Questionable to just do the MSQ for me completely and just writing off this expansion in it's totality.

It isn't the greatest MSQ, but they leave open opportunities to do more with what you discover.

I feel this current MSQ is part 1 of DT.

Any word on when the patch is and what's in it? WoW is actually holding my attention and is better than FF14 again.

There's one good zone and it's the next one for you, skip until you get to the train station.

Cowboy zone, I like the music, but it's just a very bland zone design - story and zone both are the worst in the game. The associated endgame dungeon has everything this zone should have been.

There is a live letter this week, so presumably they will discuss the upcoming patch and confirm the release date which presumably will be early/mid Day October

So we know 24 man alliance raid will be in, Hildibrand will probably be in Nov/Dec. Less clear if new relic stuff will start then or later - it sounds like they will have a Bozja-like zone but tbd when it releases

MSQ I suspect will still involve Wuk Lamat - .2 is when we will probably see her get the Lyse treatment and MSQ will start to pivot more towards the next arc

There is a live letter at the end of this month, usually means the next patch will be with-in 2 weeks(baring any complications)

But Oracle of Darkness Ultimate, Sphene(EX), and the First series in the FFXI Raids, and start of next Story(whichever way they are going with it) comes with it.

things we don't know about new Relics , garlemald restoration, Savage 24 man raids, Planetary Exploration(New ver. sanctuary stuff)

Pretty sure Mr Happy had a date pinned down for 7.1 but can't find where he said it. Expect early-mid November, though.

Maybe, although live letter a month and a half before patch drop seems like a pretty big gap. I would suspect late October at the most

Sounds like they are gonna be splitting the patch from the light overview of what they are covering in the Live Letter..

probably will have the Ultimate, and the new Alliance Raids in the first part of the patch.

I'm guessing they are having issues trying to figure out the new story so far.. *laugh*

Looks like Mid-Nov guess was right

edit: They are adding something called "Chaotic Alliance Raids" - apparently savage difficulty version of classic alliance raids. They showed World of Darkness (Cloud of Darkness specifically), sounds like it will just be the boss fight, no trash clears. the Cloud of Darkness fight looks completely new

Ultimate raid will be Eden - showed Ultimecia, but looks like you'll be fighting various Eden bosses during the ultimate

Housing update - you can pick an interior with no pillars/etc, which will make interior design easier

Also in a future patch, you can upgrade the size of the inside of your house (a small could be a mansion) but you have to pay gil to do that. So I suspect you'll have to pay an amount comparable to the house you are upgrading to inside

Combat based Allied Society quests (no surprise, since it's the X.1 patch), helps level combat classes to 100.

New Custom Delivery person from DT, I assume will have slight boost to top end scrip rewards versus other Custom Delivery peeps.

Capstone Role Quest job if you completed the role quests series on all the different job classifications.

Also a capstone on the crafting Wachumeqimeqi quests if you completed those.

More Hildibrand, of course.

Prediction for Hildibrand: He gets some Solution Nine person killed over and over, forcing the poor sap to use up all their stored cells. Meanwhile Hildibrand is practically invulnerable to the same stuff that is killing the other guy

I finally hit 100 on all and decided it was time to finish this abortion of a story:

Did they really lose to ground units...with an aerial fleet?

Did they really just land troops from the sky...in order to kung-fu fight?

Holy shit. this is the dumbest writing I think I've ever seen.

Like someone, please, spare me did miss some like McGuffin reveal when the troops came in on foot...landing a million miles away...walking...walking into the fucking town with swords?

Did all their aircraft get nuked the instant I hit escape after watchign their ground troops poof? Did it make sense?

EDIT:

I thought I was maybe mistaken thinking "Maybe all they have is energy swords..." nope, next scene, they have guns...cool this is the dumbest most contrived expansion ever.

Think of it as the equivalent of bots trying to suck your soul out. But instead of doing it via twitter and reddit they have to come in person to collect.

I was wondering that...but then in the very next scene he goes "Collecting" in their city with lazer guns.

You had one job, to destroy your enemy and harvest their souls. You landed and tried to Kung-Fu fight.

Like I'm not gunna be like "the prior expansions had no issues" but holy shit, this one is legit just dumb thru and thru.

I'm finishing this bullshit and to cap off the process 2nd to last dungeon has all the bosses just as reused models re-textured to start off my pessimism rant while I play LOL..

I hope you didn't play FF13 because I got bad news about the final dungeon, they don't even reskin the enemies or explain them in the lore.

They definitely dropped the ball with this expansion compared to Endwalker. My FC has gone from regularly having 30-40 people online, to..... me.

Beyond the story and the raid, there isnt much to do at the moment beyond leveling jobs and running treasure maps. Most people already did the heavy fate grinds early on.

There is a live letter this Friday since the patch drops early next month
