Really? I haven't noticed this at all. All I've noticed is that there is lag on the Red displaying / leaving. It actually shows up before you see it, and leaves way before it disappears on your screen. You have to exit it at least 1/4 to 1/2 second before it vanishes. The same seems to be true with your own casts. You can actually start moving 1/4 to 1/2 a second before a spell cast timer is up and you will not interrupt the spell. I've heard people say "You need to get way, way out of it", found this to be complete BS. You can be 1 pixel out of it and it will not hit you. Clearly provable when one gets dropped just barely in front of you.

So, yeah the whole red circle triangle thing on the ground and you moving out of it definitely needs to be fixed. There is either lag or something going on that does not register you being out of it when the skill fires off and it still thinks youre still in the red area. And its now pissing me off since now its starting to matter at higher levels.
The important thing to watch is the cast timer not the red area on the ground - the cast usually finishes a half second before the red area on the ground disappears.

My problem on PS3 is nothing wants to load up into memory so shits always delayed, especially running into a FATE already in progress. Also seems to be alot of latency issues but its so hard to figure out whats going on behind the scenes on PS3.

Pretty sure abilities that can be channeled on the move like the monk attacks bind your position until they finish. Which is why you can't land hits on a moving enemy. It checks your position on startup and maintains it until the ability fires. Never thought about it effecting aoe hits explains a lot of bullshit I dodged that moments since I usually fire a hit on my way out of them. I know for a fact I can start a melee ability and be way the fuck out of range before it goes off and it always hits.

Any ideas on when this game will be available again for Digital Download? Wasn't able to get it at release, and I can't find a physical copy anywere.

Also, are servers still locked? All my friends are playing on Midgarsoromr, and in beta I wasn't able to create a toon their due to population. No point for me to get it now if I can't join with the people I want to play with.

Back in this thread was some site a dude purchased through, they had keys while no one else had them. And the servers are locked and unlocked depending on time of day.

While I'm bored as fuck at work and thinking about it, toss me a pm with your name if you play on Excalibur. In a fc with some folks I met in beta but it's pretty small so looking to join a couple linkshells or just get some more folks on my friends list so I can actually do something when I hit 50 in the next day or two. Guys in my fc are good there's just a whole five people close to or at 50 so I get to run something in house maybe once a night.

Yeah, that means there's technically two issues that people face with the red zones.

One, they don't align with the skill bar.

Two, your position is fixed until your animation completes. So even if you move out before the skill bar is finished, if you're still in an animation you'll get hit. I think that one is only a problem for DPS classes and tank though.

If you're trying to get a hold of Square-Enix this is the best way to do it.

1.) Call this number 1-858-790-7529 atexactly9am PST.
2.) Choose option 2, then option 1.

They will not open their phone queue until then and, if you dial at exactly that time, you'll be close to the front of the queue. I did the above this morning and was talking to one of their support agents within 10 minutes. They fixed all my issues and was off the phone within minutes. Up until that point, I had tried chat probably 5 times and got the "No Agents Available" every time.

Anyone else play on PS3 that can tell me how high population fates are working out for you? I can't tell if issues on my end with latency or if its a problem for all PS3 users.

We had 165 total last night. Generally around 90-100 on at prime time.
Wow... I think my Dragoon is still over there but I had given up due to the server issues. I may have to jump on to Gilgamesh if you guys have that much going on. Love the guys on Malboro, extremely helpful and nice guys, but I think the most i've seen on is 10-12 in the FC. Just hate to go through all the quest again as I was really enjoying the White Mage. (Can we server transfer yet? haha)

Just as a PSA:

Don't go Arcanist and expect to do anything but play Scholar. It's rapidly turning out to be the case that Summoners are complete dogshit at challenging end game content. When you have burst DPS checks like Titan heart, a summoner is a gigantic liability.

That PSA should really be a general warning against playing Pet Classes in MMOs. The only time they are balanced (for ill or good), is when their pet ends up being little more than a graphical DoT, at which point their existence is rendered silly.

Titan heart is like a 1min "burst", you have time to get your dots up multiple times so it's really not a burst mechanic. Garuda adds are a lot closer to a burst requirement that makes summoners meh, but even then it's still 20+ seconds. Not saying summoners don't need some buffs, Bane aoe should be way way bigger for example and that'd fix a lot of issues with the class, but overall from what I've seen summoners do really good sustained damage especially on movement heavy fights(they're not bard but then again who is) and they have quite a bunch of utility, most important of which is an instant incombat rez, since they'll have the mana to spare unlike healers on tough fights(unless again, bards).

I still haven't seen any actual facts that summoners get outdamaged by anybody. I assume they're behind bards but since no parsers can actually parse summoner damage correctly, and no one seems to have bothered modelling summoner theorical DPS, there is no data for this, or maybe there is but it's relatively new and I haven't seen yet. They are however inferior in terms of burst and in general have pretty shitty aoe. I wouldn't roll a SMN for DPS simply because bard and blm look so much better, but if you have to pick between a melee dps and a ranged dps, you'd generally go for ranged so that puts SMN ahead of MNK and DRG, assuming their DPS is equal, which we don't know.
