I've got this terrible feeling that everyone is going to be done with this by the time they open up digital sales again.

I'm going to be all alone.

This is.. a cool concept I guess, if you want to sit on the couch and do some tradeskills and shit? I couldn't see anybody trying to dungeon crawl or anything on this though lol

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will support remote play on PlayStation 4.

Game director Naoki Yoshida made the announcement to Famitsu (via Kotaku), suggesting it would be ideal for when you can't play with others and just want to relax and level through gathering or crafting.

Yoshida still thinks you'll want to experience the more exciting social aspects of the game like raids and dungeons on a bigger screen though, explaining, "But like, when you're all, 'let's form a party and go to a dungeon!,' then you go sit in front of your monitor and enjoy playing that on a big screen. In that regard, you can choose your play style.

"Depending on whether you feel like playing at a certain time or on a certain day, you can select between relaxing play or giving it your all. I think expanding those options is itself something new."

Originally announced at the PlayStation 4 reveal event back in February, Sony told IGN that remote play functionality would be available day one. Whether this is still the case remains to be seen.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be available on PlayStation 4 next year.
I'll be buying a PS4 regardless, so I may as well try this since i already own a Vita. Neato~

As much as I'm enjoying the game , old school feel in some ways , and compared to the absolute shit that's been released the past few years and none of the current "big" games about to come out in spring that I've done betas in both are anything I'm going to play at all ( wow with space guns and ESO ), I can see myself playing this at least through beginning of next year.
1) You are enjoying the FFXIV
2) It has an old school feel
3) Absolute shit has been released in the past few years
4) Two games are coming out in the spring: Wildstar and Elder Scrolls Online
5) You beta tested both of them
6) You do not plan to play them again
7) Therefore, you can see yourself playing FFXIV through at least the beginning of next year

I love commas as much as the next guy, but that is way too many points for a single sentence. I seriously could not even process it until I typed out the points. I am making this post in case there are others like me who struggled to parse what you wrote.

Whats wrong with wildstar? Honest question, I have not been reading up on it but I thought it was gonna be the next big thing.

Many who have actually played it were very unimpressed, myself included. They are doing a great job of marketing, but actually playing the game isn't really fun at all. Combat is mildly entertaining for 5-30 minutes until the double tap to dodge is no longer new. The quests are your usual terrible WoW clone stuff. The gear, the classes, everything feels like a designed for F2P WoW clone that for some reason will have a subscription. It is the same game that everyone has been playing for the past decade done in a mediocre fashion. Instead of making combat actually fun or classes actually interesting or anything along those lines, they have just been adding a laundry list of other "cool things" that are also likely not well implemented.

25 minutes of Wildstar at Pax felt like an eternity that I couldn't wait to walk away from. My sister and many others I talked to felt the same way. In comparison, 25 minutes of Elder Scrolls online went by in an instant. Pretty much every single game I tried at Pax but maybe 1-2 Indy games (so like 40 or so) was more fun than Wildstar.

crafting in this game is hilarious/retarded, be prepared to write a few AHK/g15 scripts. It literally is just buy a few stacks of mats from the vendor, figure out the optimal key sequence so you don't hit 0 dura, then let it loop for hours (a good 30-60 secs for one item). Single synth gives 5-10x more xp than quick synth, and you get great XP for trivial shit, so yeah just let it rip. I'm sure at higher levels it'll require you to prefarm/buy mats and then do the macroing and run levee quests, but pretty dumb so far up to the level 25s.

All WS needs really is Paul Barnett being it's head PR guy now , it feels like a game that fits him trying to push it.

I should of went the PLD route but I honestly thought there would be a million of them so instead I decided on WAR. Damn did I get that backwards. Oh well Ill finish the WAR and then go back and do the PLD thing I guess.

Lol someone says they didn't like it and now your opinion is "oh I didn't know it sucked so bad". Do people not have minds of their own and just follow the masses/sheep?

Also I find it funny, that its "the same ol boring quest from WoW" yet here we are in ffxiv doing the exact same shit but its "old school feeling". These forums crack me up.

Yea but you only get the questing once and then you are put into an eternal servitude of FATEs for levelling alts.

Fuck wasting leve's on a combat class. FATEs are so much better and actually surprisingly tolerable. Unlike 20 minute Warhammer PQs these are all mercifully short and give a nice chunk of exp.

THIS!

I have a few on my G19 keyboard. *never* use the quick synthesis auto-craft thing, you get next to no exp and still fail sometimes, it's funny.

Instead I use a crappy G19 macro I threw together, repeats automatically. Use the ability to increase success by 90%, it'll take chance out of the equation, and you can figure out the rest of the macro from there.

I took up weaving. Smooth start, until I got to the part where instead of using botany for a main ingredient, it turns into a dropped only item (Banemite web or something). Level as long as you can off the cotton stuff, then abuse levequests in Quarrymill until it stops giving you Banemite webs. Remember HQ turn ins pretty much triple your exp. I'm not rushing to end game, and instead enjoy being a 31 pet class, 32 botanist and soon 30 weaver.
