Play time going to be cut back for awhile with GTA5 coming today. Been playing so much since the game released its time to slow it down anyway, not to mention the 50 content is shit.

You can play this on Linux? I figured they fucked the game so badly... Does it run natively or are you going through WINE?
So is skill speed just a worthless stat or what? I tried to stack a fair bit of it because it happened to be on a number of extra gear pieces I had lying around, and it gave basically no benefit despite wearing almost a full set of it. We're talking less than a quarter of a second off of the GCD when wearing a literal set of skill speed gear, and my fucking relic has the damned stat as well. Is it really just trash?
Trying to get it up and running on WINE, other people have but I haven't done WINE much at all so learning how to use WINE in the first place and get all the quirky things FF14 needs is a learning experience.

I got wow to work through WINE when it first came out and it was a pain in the dick.. Wouldn't even try with this game.

No quest, you just click the forge next to the guy in north shroud.
And yeah skillspeed is awful, it's VERY SLIGHTLY good when you have a SCH with Selene that buffs you, since it increases the skillspeed you have by a fair amount, but that's still gonna be like .1sec off your GCD if that, and it has 50%uptime.

Point stands that Skill Speed is a useless stat as of right now.
I feel as though the stat will be the most powerful stat in the game in future updates, however. We're at the very beginning of content updates for the game. I think the highest I have heard someones skill speed is a reduction of something like .4 seconds off of a 2.5 second GCD. Thinking of the longevity of the stat, then its pretty easy to say that in future updates... Skill Speed is going to be a Beast! Its probably also a reasonable reason that we have such a long ass GCD right now to begin with. Three major updates from now, who knows what our GCD will be down to?
I actually believe they have made many decisions in this game based on hopes of making the game "future proof." Also, running into areas that arent implemented yet but look cool as hell (like the entrance to an Imperial City) just give me a chubby!
I just hope that the content updates we get wont be every 6 months.

Only people getting .4 are monks and that's because they get a stacking buff that increases skillspeed% and damage. I don't think anyone else has gotten to .2 but might be wrong. Can get .2ish with Selene buff on though. And yeah maybe it'll be good later on when we can craft ilvl100 gear with grade 5 skill/spellspeed materias, MAYBE. Materia caps and shit though who knows, and also we're already at ilvl 90, which is already kinda going to be the top tier for a while.

Citation needed. I would like to know what hardware limitations would manifest if the GCD was lowered. Hint: none.
It's a shitty mechanic but I am almost guaranteeing its there as a design choice and not a hardware limitation.
