While I am having fun, and really love the world (especially day/night weather cycle, really makes it feel alive) there are some absolutely dumb mechanics that should not have made it off the drawing board:
1) Crafting requires a stupid amount of shards. Like even for 30 minute food. Also:
2) Food poofs when you die. Fix plz!
3) For weaving at least, every 10 levels you can only advance with dropped materials, the # of spawns is stupidly low and hugely contested. Who wants to farm greys? What's mining/botany for??
4) Hey you've got a nifty Chocobro you can level up! Sorry, you can't mount with it out, even with another mount. Aaaand we'll kick you out of the duty finder!
(Seriously, whats the highest ranking Choco youve seen? Took forever to hit 4 on mine, and I'm only 5% in)
5) During the main story you get a communication device "So you can keep in touch with me, the main quest chick!" SPOILER ALERT: You will still take a ferry all the way back there to advance quests no less than 600 times.
I wanted to get my crafting skills up a bit, but #1 and #3 problem was blocking me. So now my conundrum when I log for the night is "Do I want to get rest exp, or wake up with 800 more lightning shards, or 600 fleece?" I wouldn't call it 'botting' per say, if it's just my keyboard hitting 2 buttons for me. I can't recall having to do this for any other of my past MMOs.
