Still better than Leather which is 100% farming mobs. And there's a system in place that lets you bypass fleece for leveling, so I don't see it much as an issue, and they're ok priced for endgame cloth.
Maybe it's ok for weaving--I still disagree because of the lack of spawns and completely unchecked bots--but it certainly isn't ok for botany.

There's no reason they'd do that, the class, while able to heal because the instances are faceroll, gets basically no healing tool at all until 30, and doesn't get a whole lot of MND either. But I'll admit, I haven't tried to queue as an Arcanist since like 3days after EA.
They should have allowed job quests starting at 20 (at least for arcanist) Scholar is extremely OP in the level 20-30 dungeons with an auto-healing pet that heals for as much as a healer does casting rank 1 heal.

I already have 2 negs for disliking cheaters but lets get some more (not really). I get why you said it and I guess if they started from scratch again why not buuuuut who cares if the level 30 who has to join a lower level dungeon is OP? "Extremely"? Really?

I don't quite get how it affects botany? It still feeds cooking, alchemy and carpenter, and once you reach endgame botany it feeds weaver with cocoons again. Now I guess the issue is that both alchemy and cooking suck dicks at anything endgame so that whole aspect is wasted, but it has little to do with wool/felt being from drops instead of botanist.

There should be more sheeps though, definitely. How they thought having only like 12spawns total for the material needed from lvl 40 to 50 including 2stars(even though it's only part of the materials for these) would be a good idea. But as a Weaver(and a botanist), I don't mind because I still make crazy money even with 350-400g fleece simply because the shit you craft out of them is useful for everyone. Botanist endgame moneywise however I guess is slightly fucked up, but mining isn't too much better off on my server, since there's a ton more miners(and as such prices are lower). Gathering isn't like very good money unless you're fully geared and can get HQ mats a lot. HQ cocoons are 3.5k a pop and you can get up to 18 an hour, more likely 9-12. That's not that bad though since all you have to do is go there, get one node, then go do whatever.

The FFXIII content will be released week after 11/14

Planned to being able to build ships/etc in house basements
FC will be able to hire shopkeepers in their FC housing at some point
You can't make furniture out of bread
Wolves Den (PVP): 4v4, three tiers (lvl 30/40/50), PVP-exclusive abilities. Video shown.

The novelty wore off for me. All the surrounding frameworks of the game are just too much of a step backwards or simply too poorly designed. A lot of the game's features belong ten years ago, and the console-catering 2.5 second GCD is just too much of a blow to endure in the long term. Coupled with the fact that there are no class notes in the patch preview and the latest developer interview reveals that they think the warrior job is strong, I've kind of lost faith in their ability to just get it right. They've delivered below standard on almost every front, from server infrastructure to general game design. The only thing they really did right was make the PvE fairly difficult, but then again most of the difficulty lies in an extreme emphasis on twitch AoE-dodging in a game that has possibly the worst client-to-server communication since Everquest.

I wonder what they're going to do about housing pricing. At the moment there's a huge disconnect between people who don't farm/craft/gather but can still afford repairs and teleports because the cost isn't that high(after the nerf at least), so they have like 30-100k and are pretty happy with that amount, and then you have people who mildly do gathering/crafting/farming sitting at 500k-1million, and then you have the big crafters/first gatherers/relic gougers and such that are sitting at 3-10millions(or more I don't really know). While I'm sure the dailies and what not they'll add will generate more gold than currently is possible, if it starts handing out 25k per daily the inflation will be crazy. At the same time it seems hard to balance pricing accordingly due to the disparity between the "normal" people and the rich. I guess maybe it'll be related to the size of the house, so like small houses will be priced for non farmers, say 75-100k, but large houses will be priced only for the richests people, say 10millions.

Wait, was it ever considered that this content patch wouldnotbe out this year? If 2.1 is further out than 2 months there is no hope for this game. And honestly, 2 months is way too long.

Idk about your server but Materia 3 farming is still pretty good on mine. Slop on 5-8 pieces of gear and level up a chocobo in Northern Thanalan. Kill mobs in the "endless chain" area and/or join a fate group when it pops for a free 70% SB gain.

They're saying it will, why would we consider it won't? I do hope it's like october rather than december though.

Well, they've lied and failed to deliver at most other points. I don't see why this looks likely to be any different.

I'll be absolutely shocked if that feature list makes it into the game, functional, in 2013.

Keep in mind Faddor, a lot of this stuff they are adding, has been around for a long time. It's not all new content they are making in a month. Crystal tower, the other primal, The wolves den pvp, the housing areas, etc, have all been created from way back in early beta, some even carried over from 1.0. They just didn't have time to finish it up before 2.0 launch. I am not too worried about this first content patch. The ones after are the ones that could be more of an issue to be honest.

Err I didn't mean that they're "op" just that they're fully capable of healing low level content anyways, no reason that you couldn't allow arcanists to queue up pre-30 as healers. Which would solve some of the issues.

The next 2 classes added in "should" theoretically have tank jobs as a viable possibility, corsair can easily have a tanking role with more of an emphesis on being able to build threat at range (along with a muskateer pure dps role), and of course thief class with a ninja evasion tank job would be pretty popular as well.
