What's the test case? Disable 2nd monitor that's 1080p 60hz, then run FF14 in Borderless Window, and see if I'm still 60 FPS capped?
Yea, so it looks like going Full Screen is the way to go, with uncapped FPS in game, and just go with it. That's fine for me, but it's odd, because I know for sure that I've been past 60 FPS, in Borderless Window, but that could of been when I didn't have anything at all on my 2nd monitor? Hence it wasn't capped at 60 for that session or whatever?Yes. But I can pretty much already tell you that it's what the issue is. Dual monitors with different HZ don't play well together thanks to Windows 10 being poorly designed. If that 60hz is showing anything that makes windows want to apply vsync to it: your entire system is going to be limited to 60hz. Having a second high refresh monitor fixes this issue (but also brings other problems)
Could be. Back when I used to notice shit like that I'd be watching twitch/youtube etc.. on the 60hz monitor and would notice my FPS cap out at that.Yea, so it looks like going Full Screen is the way to go, with uncapped FPS in game, and just go with it. As a RDM not sure, I did it a few times on PLD until it dropped. Mostly pick up balls so you get the buff so you don't get murdererd by his nuke, refresh it, then heal to full before you let it drop and get 3 more. Should be fairly doable since RDM has more damage than PLD so the fight is shorter, plus you can burst the adds from range easily which is the part where a lot of damage is taken.I been solo farming with my RDM ARR primal extremes and got all the ponies in a few hours except for Ramuh's. He's my last in order to get Kirin mount. Any protips for soloing this guy?
I decided to resub since the Shadowbringers cinematic got my hyped.
Gone from PC to PS4 and I play a White Mage so looking for some help:
1) I've never actually been able to cope with keybinds on PC so the controller feels a lot better selecting spells, but targeting feels much worse. Any macros, UI changes or button remapping to make things better with a PS4 Controller?
2) I remember the Realm Reborn patch MSQ being unbearable when I resubbed for Heavensward and here I am again going through the Heavensward MSQ patches, I belive that I've just finished patch 3.1... I've got 4 more patches to go before playing Stormblood? Should I kill myself now or is there a way to say "You know what, I actually despise Minfilla, can we abandon her?".
3) I got really confused with stats and I think I chose the wrong welfare epic rewards at the end of 3.1. I chose the Intelligence gear to help me DPS in solo quests, but my damage stat went down... so am I just going for Mind gear as a Healer no matter if I'm Solo DPS or Party Healing?
4) If I wanted to chage class to, say, Dark Knight - how long will it take to get it to Stormblood? I'm probably only playing for 1 month.
That's the part where I was messing up. Not fully healing up before I drop the buff. The lightning would kill me while I started getting my stacks to 3 again. I'll try again when I get off from work.As a RDM not sure, I did it a few times on PLD until it dropped. There's a bit of RNG sometimes depending on how your buff drop line up with his attack. Try to find 3 balls close together and pop sprint to reduce the amount of time needed. That's the part where I was messing up. Not fully healing up before I drop the buff. Making the gear more generic with all melees having the same gear would make sense though and would reduce how many armor sets they have to make(to compensate for having to make more for the new races).
Many sets are already limited like that though. The ninja set is often a recolor/slightly modified brd/mch gear, and DRG often gets recolored/slightly modified tank stuff. Not all sets, I think 8man raiding sets are still unique, but look at the 24man stuff for example, there's not that many. And they already did that forever with caster/healer sets, which often are just the same set, one is white, other is black. In a game where gear progression is 99% about appearance it leaves me cold at the thought of only 2/3 sets split between melee and ranged per large update cap. Granted, in FFXI most non-raiding ninjas rocked a scorp harness, byakko's, and o-hat for years upon reaching 75.
If they're not going to go down job-based sets similar to what they give each 10 levels of character progression post 50 would it be better if they found a way to randomise gear stats so there's more of a hook for the players to farm the optimal pieces, similar to Destiny 2?
Also, appreciate this is bumped from a few pages back but I'm teetering on resubbing due to a friend firing this back up but the gear grind and obsolescence is a significant contributing factor to my previous unsubs.
