todays race has been absolutely bonkers. Most fun to watch this season I think,

yeah I was super pissed when they penalized Norris last race and not Max. This week it was just too bad for them to ignore. Max normally cries and complains and he didn’t at either penalties this week…so he knew what he did I assume.

It's getting kinda annoying that every overtake is now a jury sport. You can't push people off the track but you also can't really expect someone to slow down for someone overtaking them when doing so would probably allow a third car to go past them as well.
Any rule you put in can be used as both a sword and a shield. You can just brake late to get alongside someone while carrying too much speed to make the corner and claim you were pushed off when there's little penalty if the claim doesn't stick. Soccer had much the same problem until they started sending people off for diving and even there it's still worth the risk sometimes.

In that instance you do get strikes in the form of track limits being exceeded.
And slowing down, if someone has the lead into a turn is exactly what they expect you to do and if you don’t stewards usually don’t hesitate to hand those penalties out. Just like you can only react once when someone attempts to overtake you with a move to either side. We saw Max get his with a penalty for just that earlier in the season, again with Norris.
and we’ve seen Norris (who dives a lot) lose out and hit track limits and get penalties too, like last race.
however when you have a driver force you off the track so far that it looks like you’re being escorted to the stands like we saw today, something big happens. Max knew what he did, and he gets away with a lot, today was t one of those days,

Wasn't really talking about this race in particular, it's just constantly happening with everyone. Teams seem to default to complaining about getting cut off or pushed, some of it probably warranted and some of it just fishing. Max is frequently involved but he's also the man to beat which makes him a bigger target.

Max deserves much worse than he's getting. If everyone out there drove like him, nobody would make it past turn 1. He doesn't even care either, which is the scary part. He laughs about it and says thats racing. The fact that he is so good and fast otherwise doesn't make driving like an asshole okay.

Max is a very good driver, and him dive bombing corners like he does is what makes people pissed off. The stewards have been very reluctant to penalize him for it. There was one race he did it this season, and he had to lock his brakes up because he really misjudged the corner and would have sailed off into the gravel. Max has the skill to do better which makes it even more frustrating.
