i like Anya Taylor Joy but she's not believable as furiosa at all. She's good as teenage Furiosa but not any older.
Large stretches of the movie are pretty boring. The parts that SHOULD be really good, like the "100 day war", are just done as voiceover and its such a BIZARRE choice.
similarly, I like Chris Hemsworth and his character but his parts are in a different movie. Fury Road was singular and heartstopping the whole way, any humor was minor. Here the movie constantly stops for some jokes or silly bits and never rebuilds momentum. Thats the biggest issue, its pacing is awful.
A lot of the CGI is mediocre. Its better than the shit we get in Marvel but its nowhere near as good action sets as John Wick or Fury Road.
ultimately the question really failed to answer "what is the story we are telling?" There really isn't one, other than how Furiosa lost her arm or grew up learning how to be an Imperator and those aren't answered in interesting ways.
Its a miss and a swing, I don't think its fair to hate the movie, you never really know what you are going to get when you start big projects like this. The unfortunate thing is George Miller is 79, this movie bombed and so it probably means its over for the franchise until he dies.
