We'll probably need at least the two threads. There are storylines from the book that haven't been aired yet and I'm sure they're in season 6. The way we did it this season was to put unaired episode stuff into spoiler tags and discuss as normal. A few people got really butthurt because they thought "Spoiler" in the title meant that everything was fair game even though we explicitly stated unaired episode stuff needed to be spoilered.

Point to another show that is an adaptation that is being done at such a high level of production.
It'd be like if LOTR was a current story being adapted for a series. If The Expanse was being done on HBO it could be just as bad. Sadly, it's being done on SyFy, so the level of butthurt will be reduced. True Blood was bad in many ways, so people cared less.
People are going to talk outside of spoilers, get shit on, get moderated, and make a second thread. In the meantime people wanting to avoid spoilers will be caught up in an annoying thread full of hidden conversations.

The point is we are completely out of book territory. Sure you could claim all that was necessary before but the chances of book 5 being printed before the next season is almost impossible.
