Yeah, pretty much the only hope for a decent deal is ~$25 90-day cards on Black Friday (which is what people used to do before the cheap XBL codes became a thing, so I guess it's not too horrible). Assuming the price hike doesn't happen before BF anyway, or else they'll be $30+ instead.

You can still do it with 12 month Gamepass Core codes. I bought 3 for $50 each recently and then did the upgrade. Not as cheap as the 3 month codes you're talking about but still way better than buying Ultimate.

This is all because of “President” DEI over there literally fucking up everything since taking over late last year. Sure didn’t take long from “leading diversity and inclusion” as an executive to fuck up everything else in a role she never fucking earned from the get go. Sarah Bond is a fucking cancer.

I wanted to find more info on her. Wikipedia doesn't have dates for school or anything. Nothing in Google. Ahhh, but I'll use a Microsoft product to get info on the president of Xbox. MS Copilot just shits out Wikipedia word for word. Great company with great products and great people making those great products!

She went to Yake for economics, then Harvard business school. Then started her career as an associate at a consulting firm, then a senior role at T-Mobile and ta-dah she's leading a video game "platform" helping shape the future of the "service."

Must be great to be so.... talented and experienced. I hope she continues to "dedicate her career to transforming cultures" because I'm feeling a bit too privileged when I play video games.

Truth. "DEI" isn't what's killing these big companies, it's the Big 4 Consulting companies. "DEI" just comes along for the ride, part of the packaged deal, but these consultants do so much other damage to their "clients" that "DEI" hardly registers as the root cause. It just one branch of the bullshit these companies force on their "clients" aka the host entities that they destroy like the parasites that they are.

McKinsey completely gutted 2 of the last 3 companies I've worked for, and BCG did in the other.

Big 4 consulting companies are basically angels of death without the mercy killing. Everything they touch bleeds a long slow death.

It's too bad they didn't add Lords of the Fallen closer to release. Every patch that came out while I had it from GameFly made the game worse and worse. Retards couldn't be bothered fixing simple bugs that massively impacted the played based on what region they were in, but they could dump out a hotfix to make it nigh impossible to kill one stupid enemy on practically a daily basis. Pretty much the story for every change they made: Benefits player in some way? Patch immediately, and nerf it so much that no one will ever think about using that thing again (which was super fun when your build was set up for it and now you have to farm a ton of shit to move to some other build, which would just get nerfed a couple days later). Bug or stupid design that makes the game suck in some way? Fuck it, it stays. I'm sure the multiple-times-a-week patch cycle is long over now, but it was really fucking annoying at the time. And I suspect the state it ended up in is still a downgrade from how it began.

Unpatched, it was a pretty decent attempt at a souls-clone.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can get 500 free Minecoins for Minecraft. You have to use the app or do it on console, but go to the "Game Pass" tab and its under "Perks".

Best deal I found on cdkeys right now was $43 for 12 month Core (which converts to 4 months of Ultimate). $35 for 3 months of Ultimate isn't bad...tax would make it even worse in comparison, but not bad.

That Target deal is terrible. You can just straight up buy 3 months of ultimate from Eneba for $26-27, no conversion needed.

CDkeys is pretty shady, I bought 3 keys off them one time two worked but one didn't no matter what I tried. I emailed support, they sent an automated reply asking for some into, I provided it all and they never got back to me. Last time I used them. I use g2a now.
