Xbox news is so depressing. I have loved the platform since its launch, I have always enjoyed the competition, I think the three different approaches to the console/gaming space is great, and watching them flounder while not really doing THAT badly, just not growing. Hardware is losing badly because there is "no reason" to own an Xbox, despite it being a good system. I love my Xbox and enjoy playing on it, particularly when I am playing with people who don't have great PCs. When the Gen started, I had to play games specfically on my PS5 because otherwise it wouldn't get played; it wasn't as good a console. Now it seems the exclusivity plays much more in Sony's favor to make it the alternative to PC, and Xbox can't see their real competiors are Steam as much as Sony.

What they really need to do clean house, get rid of all the California DEI/ESG pronoun BS, make some great games (AA games, not AAA blockbusters) with some timed exclusivity. If GamePass isn't selling consoles, maybe keep it as a value offering but find a way to make your service have something that people want again. Microsoft ought to have a hundred Studios making innovative games, not buying big companies trying to the Disney Approach. MS Arcade writ large. Bethesda/Blizzard/Etc isn't cutting it.

Still waiting on a family plan.

AFAIK I’m subbed until 2025/26 I thought. Maybe not? This seemed like an additional charge.
