IDK why they call that thing AI, its furthest from being an AI. Its a glorified search and compile engine that basically pagarizes shit. It cannot THINK, it cannot make decisions, none of that good shit that would make it an AI.

The End of Days.

End of days or the beginning? Maybe the second awakening of Blizzard? I mean Blizzard has been shit for the better part of the last decade if not longer. I cant see this hurting Blizzard OR Microsoft. Microsoft needs to send in their "Bobs" and clean fucking house.

Wonder how fast the UK is gonna move to change its mind now. Funny if they stick to not approving it tho.

The End of Days.

More like the end of days for diversity hires and unions at Act/Blizz. Which is a fantastic thing.

The beginning of complete monetization of every Activision and Blizzard game henceforth. With the amount of money they are paying for the company they aren't going to be happy with just box sales.

A lot of it will be business as usual, with MS leveraging King's strengths to expand their franchises into mobile.

I want some kind of MMO sub add-on to Game Pass, let me tinker w/ ESO w/ my WoW sub, thx.

I'll start by saying that I own both consoles so it's not a huge deal for me personally.

That said, I think it's pretty awful deal, more exclusives is not a a good thing for consumers in general, and MS will obviously make as much of this exclusives and I don't blame them for it.

Also, I don't really play any Activision/Blizzard games on consoles.

Yeah, there's a lot of incoherent 'this will get easily appealed, the judge's son works at Microsoft and should have recused' as they ignore this was addressed day 1 and neither party had an issue with it. FTC wanted this court, MS wanted to move it to DC.

Frankly they're playing different games. I don't think anything MS does will help them overtake Sony or Nintendo in unit sales this generation or next. Those two are both still doing the console thing, while Microsoft wants your sub revenue and to let you play your games wherever you want for the most part. They don't care if you buy loss-leader hardware in the process, just want you in the ecosystem. Sony still has better first party franchises, and Nintendo is it's own niche - they'll continue to sell to people who want both of those exclusive offerings.

Game Pass made almost $1b in revenue in Q3. That's the game MS is playing and we'll continue to see Sony and Nintendo shift and pivot their service offerings to try and duplicate any part of that success that they can.

Based on how MS has handled Minecraft, i see this as a good thing for Activision/Blizzard. I hope they send in the bobs and clean house.

Microsoft is unbelievably woke these days. Also, extremely pro-Ukraine but they've got a ton of Ukrainians/expats as employees so that's more understandable.

Oh No Reaction GIF by Bounce

Are we starting with the implication that everything they have is not already monetized completely? I mean, they might try to push harder but that is the equivalent of going from 10 to 11 when you are acting like we're going from 0 to 10.

Yeah, uh, actually, given how 'well' (from an industry financial perspective) Activision has monetized their games already, I am willing to bet that Microsoft is buying Activision for their expertise in the monetization side.
