Not officially. But it has wifi and an SD card slot so will probably be a way to. I plan on getting one and using an everdrive 64 cart in it to play n64 roms.

With all the hoojamaboo they are doing, would the everdrive mess with the re-creation of the visual stuff? Or does the everdrive simply present the rom as a cart?

I remember reading about all the stuff and detail they did to emulate the dot matrix displays of each of the gameboy systems, it was crazy.

Everdrive acts as a game cart and works on original N64s. Everdrive stuff works on other Analogue products as well. No reason to think this would be different.

xbox 3d party showcase 25 mins today

Remedy (Alan Wake, Control) saw Concord and decided they need to burn some money too i guess

yeah its more L4D than typical GAAS multiplayer as its coop PVE but still, I wonder who will pay money for this. Especially since I think they don't release their games on steam but EGS on PC?

this looks cool and its from bloober who recently released silent hill 2 remake but i dunno, these kind of games just seem to die nowadays - callisto protocol, evil within, etc

"seem to die?" what is a game supposed to do after people play it?

Not sure how or why exactly it happened, but some players seem to expect that even the cheapest indie games should be run like games-as-a-service now and complain that they're dead or abandoned if they don't get periodic updates. For all of the disappointments that the game industry serves up, this is one time where the kids are actually wrong.

Man, if I get a good 20-40 hours of fun out of a $20 game and then I can put it away without the fucking devs dangling some artificial, contrived FOMO in front of me, that's a best-case outcome. Have a vision, make it, polish it, and let it be done. That's how things should work.

Yeah every steam discussion is the same with all the entitled gamers, it’s ridiculous. A small developer announces a cheap paid DLC and you see tons of “This should be free as a gesture of good will” or “Paid DLC? I will be uninstalling the main game now, I am disgusted and disappointed.” It’s so insufferable.

Well you see, once you use some water, for anything, like some tea, it’s gone forever. It totally never goes back into the environment and gets transferred via man made or natural systems back through the environment into water again. It’s simply deleted, never to be seen again.

Seems another SBI game is raking in the cash from the modern audience.

I've never even heard of it. Looks like some Assassins Creed rip off.

Nothing new really - the past 20 years have been full of people thinking that all games should be free. The F2P model gave people entitlement syndrome.

That is a glib way to put it. F2P gave people a different way to value games aside from box price that happened to go all the way to 0. Now, do some F2P games and their predatory loot box/ pay-to-win schemes deserve to make no money? Yes. But it is very valuable to see what games of all budgets can accomplish by not having to rely solely on box sales.

Stuff like LoL/Dota/Fortnite/etc would never have become as popular as they did without F2P for sure. Although then that launched the lootbox/cosmetic model that infected even single player games.

Double edged sword

Cosmetics I don't mind at all, at least in F2P. Fortnite monetization is entirely innocuous and you miss nothing for not participating. Loot boxes can fuck right off.

Monetization has destroyed the industry.

Youre a company that only cares about making money. You gonna go with option A where you invest tens of millions to hundreds of millions of dollars for a 50-100% return, or do you go with option B where you invest tens of millions of dollars for %1000+ returns?

Obviously the latter. But ultimately, the problem is consumers. If we didn't buy that shit they wouldn't make it. We're getting what we collectively ask for.
