So the new Nvidia app is out. I think it's not bad! Everything I use is right there now, instead of spread across two apps. Plus you no longer need to log in.
Forgetting my login information and asking me to login every 3 months was a fucking aids idea. Fucking awful. Good riddance.
We'll see everything seems to be positive so far. It can't possibly be slower than the GeForce Experience at least. Why is takes 20 minutes to express install a driver is beyond me.
Thats gotta be a you problem and I cant fathom why its like that. It takes all of 30 seconds to a minute to update the drivers and restart.

I dunno it's just always been that way. Driver installs outside app take seconds, inside 20 minutes.

Does it really take 20m to install the driver? I've never timed my installs, but I would be surprised if it ever took longer than 5min.

It takes WIndows a surprisingly long time to completely re-initialize the graphics subsystem. You can test this out by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Win + B.

You should be grateful that you can even update a graphics driver without a reboot. Back in my day ...

Yeah, it's frustrating how clunky things get when you have a loose cable or just want to flip HDR off/on, w/ all the monitors blinking off/on, wondering if one is going to stay off and undetected for a moment for no apparent reason, etc.

Figured this thread was as good as any…

I am trying to find an old arcade game I remember.

It was an on-rails space shooter - 3d - had voice and I seem to remember acted cut scenes intro - but the kicker was- it was a huge room game, with 4 - 6 seats for gunners and was like 2-3$ a play.

I played it back in the 90s at WdW contemporary resort during a youth trip camping - when the contemporary had a huge arcade.

Just wondering if anyone remembers it / name etc.. google is failing me

Need way more details. Like.. you say space shooter. But like .. is it doom like? ... but then you say for gunners, so everyones on one big ship? Was each person on their own arcade machine? Or were there just like 6 positions on one big arcade machine? (You know, like a racing game with a steering wheel is just for one player. But they'll have another arcade machine with another steering wheel right beside it - for example). I dont know what you mean by huge room game.

Describe the scenes, give us examples, etc. There was just a ton of games that.. for what its worth, had very little depth to them.. and werent that fun. But you would never figure that out unless you were able to game the system (or you just played the Emulator copy of it with infinite lives).

good luck?

6 player arcade games are super rare/unheard of. by room game, do you mean it wasn't a screen and 6 guns, you stand at?

something like this?

this game is recentish. 2018. just asking about design

I tried looking into the disney contemporary resort for clues. not a lot of luck there. was it the game station?

doesn't look that big to me... I wouldn't expect this one to have any unique or super special arcade machines.

It was a big room with a huge screen, that because of the time - was most likely projector (s) rather than a big LED wall or something.

There were 6 seats (maybe 4-5?) each with a movable gun you controlled - you were a colored reticle on the screen, each person was a turret essentially - guns and limited missile/bombs - it was on rails, the game flew the ship you shot at attacking bad guy ships etc.

It was enclosed with 2 entry/exits you go in- then the seats all facing the big screen and each seat had its own money slot etc. etc.

It was bigger than that, it was essentially a room - 4-6 wide seats with the control gun you moved and pointed at the screen each with a seat side by side.

Kinda like taking half of a shipping container - it was shorter than a standard ceiling- but I didn't have to duck, and I (even then) was 6ft+

I... for some reason, love rails shooters - so this game was like, insane for me I loved it- and having other players - all invested in the game- because it was like 2-3$ or even more - and the better you did the longer you survived and further you made it... so everyone was like rah rah! .. it may have been even more than 2-3$ but again the late 90's so, the .50$ Virtual fighter was a whoa upcharge sega!

It was /like/ this game - but ... multi player and in a big room.

looked up this ones gameplay and the one I am thinking of was better visuals than this one.

You're not stressing anyone by asking, so dont get discouraged. Ive already found some games that I might rom by looking, so we're getting something out of this nostalgia trip, too.

But in this video - go to 4:18, and tell me if you see the light gun you were using on his wall:

For that contemporary video - no that was when they moved the arcade, what is shown in that video is the small version when they downscaled.

Where it used to be, on the first floor, is now quick service food and a sit down restaurant - or it was last time i was willing to give the mouse my dirty money 6-7 years ago.

Was sad… the arcade there was legendary and huge…

edit: here are some old pics of it... thanks for the memory lane trip and finding the game all!

It was a huge arcade and yeah, with the pics I recall- even had an entire "ticket game" section for prizes and stuff.

Back in the day I went with my friends family and stayed there for a week. We spent half the trip in that arcade. Fucking full park passes. One of the coolest trips ever as a kid. All day in the parks and all morning and evening in the arcade. My friends dad must've given us like 100$ a day. Was insane. Really the best arcade I can remember, at least in the south east. I know San Diego and NY had some crazy ones back then too. And I also went to one in Chicago that was more sports themed but still had really good games.

Contemporary arcade, very good memberberries. Would stay at the fort wilderness camp ground and take the boat over to it at night. Would have the special cup so could load up on drinks all night long.

God fuck nudisney.

Aye, every year in middle school the church group big trip was ft wilderness - the contemporary arcade and river country were the big hits… then they shut down river country and the beaches bc some parasite thing infected pregnant women.

Canoeing around ft wilderness - water sprites in the lake… taking them to Tom sawyers island after they closed it and getting the Disney boat police all rustled.

Going to yacht and country club to use their sand bottom pool…. Ahhhh
