For this reason I have been playing old games lately. Dusted off the PS3 and currently doing the God of War series pre-2018 reboot.I bought a new gaming rig for POE2 andnow that I'm getting bored with it decided to try out some of the newest, first person bleeding edge games that I've missed out on. Between Gamepass and Steam there's a lot to choose from. Holy shit, everything is a giant steaming turd. 30GB dowloads and I either get bored after 10 minutes of cut scenes with zero gameplay or I'm completely stuck super early on and don't feel like getting gud so early in a game that I'm not even sure I like yet. Probably went through 400 GB worth of games today and all but one (Borderlands 2) got uninstalled. Spent more time downloading than playing.
I’m still playing poe2, but I’ve realized, other than BG3 which I haven’t touched yet, I built a new PC to just play backlog from 2008-2018.I bought a new gaming rig for POE2 andnow that I'm getting bored with it decided to try out some of the newest, first person bleeding edge games that I've missed out on. I sadly have a few on my list like this: Space Marine 2, BG3, and RDR2 to name a few, ones that maybe I started and didn't stick with/bounced off of, or they were long slogs I didn't feel like sticking with for 100+ hours at the time, or I wanted to do Space Marine 1 before I played Space Marine 2. I have kind of hit a slump where I will bounce off a game if I am not careful, and its just easier to ADD on Twitter than to spend time learning a game that either I previously knew or just struggle to enjoy the early going. I started POE2 and a bunch of my folks are still playing but between GGG being super nerfing bitches and the trade system shenanigans; I am just going to wait for them to get settled a bit more, i.e. stop fucking around with the game so much. It really does count as a bounce off.
I’m turning into a dad gamer. Before PoE2 I was playing FF14 and Soul Blazer (on an actual fucking SNES and CRT…in my basement). Time is the problem but I’ll be damned if I turn into that dude that spends $600 on a console to just play an updated football roster. Things like Souls games are daunting at times though knowing I only get a couple hours to slam my dick in the proverbial car door nightly.I sadly have a few on my list like this: Space Marine 2, BG3, and RDR2 to name a few, ones that maybe I started and didn't stick with/bounced off of, or they were long slogs I didn't feel like sticking with for 100+ hours at the time, or I wanted to do Space Marine 1 before I played Space Marine 2. I don't have as much time and don't have as much patience as I used to with these games. I guess I am becoming shakes my fist at clouds meme dude.
I would like to come back to FF14 but haven't played in like 4 (or more now) expansions, and this is also an issue I have with many other Live Service games, first found with EU4: They keep changing the fucking game trying to keep people playing forever. It's to be expected I guess with MMOs but it feels like many games now are these ever evolving content creation churn engines that never stop dribbling out new things, rather than making/selling Sequels.I’m turning into a dad gamer. I really don't understand how shitty FPS games have become. Literally almost every release up through 2010 or so was at least fine if not great. UT, CS, BF, CoD, etc. I could pick up any title and happily play it for a while. Now they are just steaming piles of dogshit with everything focused on hyper competitive matchmaking, or grinding progression before you can even start playing the game, toxic as fuck "kill streak" bullshit to make retards feel good. I hate the entire genre now.I bought a new gaming rig for POE2 andnow that I'm getting bored with it decided to try out some of the newest, first person bleeding edge games that I've missed out on.
