Thats neat. yeah. I was just watching a retrospective, and came here to link it. wondering what thread would be best, or if I should start a thread for retrospectives. '
Majuular has been doing an ultima retrospective which is incredible. Today he just posted this one on Dark Cloud. A series I didn't play. in hindsight though, man would it have been something I would have loved I think. town building in a ps2 game?
some of its designs remind me of Vagrant Story. I HATED that. wonder if I have a working copy of it around somewhere still.. if I should give it another chance.
yeah, Maj there seems to like the sequal, dark Chronical more. both are too grindy for his tastes it seems. but, it sounds like it stream lined much."I really liked it, it was fairly unique back then. I didn’t play the sequel though.
I beat both Lies of P and Lords of fallen and they’re both really solid souls like games. I give them both 7.5 out of 10.Started Lies of P since it was on Gamepass and just waiting for Monster Hunter. It was either this or Lords of Fallen. So far P has been pretty good. Not the best at combat yet and am only using the starting polearm thing I got when starting. Not one of the 3 starting weapons, something else that was DLC maybe? Lots I don’t get about combat and am pretty much just parrying and light attack, but only up through third area so far, just passed that big puppet guardian thing boss.
I want to play Lords of the Fallen but I seem off put by the lantern mechanic. Guess I'm not sure how it works really.
It’s a budget souls with an interesting story. My problem with lies of P was the tells for boss moves were not as good as most souls games. It felt like I had to do much more memorization whereas a game like sekiro you didn't have to know most boss moves with the combat dance.
I enjoyed it. Just saying I wish it was more sekiro like in that regard. It’s a budget souls with an interesting story.
