I didn't know that was a thing; however, thinking back on the absolute shit ton of Law and Order I have watched in my life.... Sam Waterston was always on the left side of my screen, just like those prosecutors.

Dunno. Every court is different. Weirdest I've seen was in San Antonio. They had one giant table in front of the bench, and Plaintiff's Counsel and Defendant's Counsel all sat together at the table.

Generally Defense sits away from the jury box, plaintiff sits by the jury box. But thats not some hard and fast rule, it varies.
