I don't see why everyone is propping this up as a feminist movie.
I haven't seen anything from the creator about pushing a female agenda. They decided to make a cash grab by rebooting the franchise and it's clearly easier to replace the classic cast with women who won't be constantly compared to the original 4. Seriously if they made Channing Tatum play venkman it would be a non stop comparison to Murray. This gives them a bit more creative room.
This isn't a feminist empowering film, it's a greedy cash grab that looks poorly made
Although maybe this is the ultimate troll to get moron feminists and neck beards to war over something as stupid as this movie.

Pretty sure since they have four obvious character archetypes, people are going to be comparing the ladies to the originals pretty much nonstop regardless. Venkman! With tits. Spangler! With tits. etc.

No, you're wrong, and we already posted links to show this is false.
They've been pushing this since the first person was against the movie. I'm against the movie because I don't want a ghostbusters remake. But they've come out in force to say that if you dislike it, you must be sexist. This isn't random people propping it up as a feminist thing; it's Feig saying he wanted to do a movie with all females and if you don't want to see a new ghostbusters you hate women.
Much like the ME3 ending debacle, they fucking have no idea why people are angry, and instead, like Maddox says above, using the sexist route as a way to explain all the haters.
It's obvious this movie is going to be terrible. It's obvious the writing is bad. It's obvious it's not going to be funny. It's obvious everything around it is shit.
The one thing I'm really angry about, for whatever reason, is that the ghosts look really really bad.

Kind of the opinion that if there a market for more women directed movies, movies with 1/2 the cast minorities someone would make them. Nobody is going to leave that much fruit on the tree.

Instead of watching this, I am going to find a blu-ray extended edition of the original Ghostbusters, buy it, and play it for the day.

What's funny is in the end, I do not think anyone cares who directed what or even reads the credits. They are filling their face full of popcorn, sucking down sour patch kids, and watching a movie and going home. These morons place way too much importance on themselves to think anyone cares.
Only directors I have ever even known about where it would effect me watching a movie would be Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese.
Love the 1st world problems of the female gender. Meanwhile, none of these a-hole ladies are doing anything about the 6 women that just got raped over in Saudi and being put to death as adulterers.
