Holy shit the BOY's true identify blew me the fuck away. God (no pun intended) the story and lore in this game is fucking amazing. Top notch!!!

Added spoiler tags due to possibly spoilerish material - Amod

Unfortunately I had suspected this was the case ever since Freya freaked out at the mistletoe arrows. My kindly old lutefisk-peddling Norse mythology professor would be quite proud, but it spoiled the story just a bit.

Out of town again until tomorrow. I need to quit traveling. All I want to do is play this.

So... Question on how far I am in.

I just defeated the
Dragon- right after clearing the smoke from the mountain and going through the puzzles. Still have not gotten to the top to drop off the ashes

How much do I have left? I am hooping someone says 90%! :)

Nowhere near 90% but you have a lot to look forward to.

Just arrived to...

The Dwarven Kingdom. Trying to do as much as I can before heading to Jotunheim.

Any recommendations for specific side quests? Loving this game and trying to not miss anything.

As long as you clear out your quest log, clear any markers on your map (hidden chambers, rifts) and make sure to clear the two optional realms, that should mostly be it.

Depends on what you want to do. The side quests are the best source of Runic attacks, which can be amazing. I would just do whatever looks/sounds interesting and explore. Doing the Favors for the Dwarves will net you some nice armor that can help you with post game content. Now if you want to complete the "main" post game content, then you will -need- to spend time in Muspelheim and Nifelheim.

Watched Elajjaz and Admiral Bahroo fight the Valk Queen today/tonight. Elajjaz was on Challenging, and Bahroo was on God of War difficulty. They had pretty much the same gear, but different runic attacks, and some different enchantments. I would also say their skill lvl is just about the same, with Ela being slightly better. Ela defeated the Queen on the fourth attempt, while it took Bahroo several -hours- to finally win. Not sure what the difference is between the difficulty versions, since the Queen did nothing different in God of War mode vs. Challenging. I'm guessing the amount of defense and hP the Queen had was lessened in Challenge, but I would say the damage appeared to be the same. Punishing fight if you can't remember all the attacks the previous Valks used, and she had no repetitive pattern to get used too.

Some things that didn't seem to be explained:
There were a couple things which were said during the playthrough, but never seemed to be followed up on, unless I missed it:
1 - Someone else blew the Horn to summon the World Serpant. I would think this would be a fairly significant action, given it would have to be done by someone who the Serpent wouldn't eat, right?
2 - A comment from Mimir when you encounter the first Valk; he sounded surprised when he said "She actually did it..", given what happens, I have no idea who that "she" would be... certainly not Freya or Sigrun.
3 - Sending Baldur to hunt down Faye (Laufey)? Why? The Giants are all dead, Odin / Thor had no need to find a path to Jotunheim... since it appears they went their and killed all the Giants who fled. My only thought is that Odin wanted to see the panels that Kratos and Atreus saw?
4 - Midgard setting. So, I am assuming the Desolation pretty much wiped out Humanity in Midgard (or the sections we saw) given we only encounter other Humans once early on in the game; everything else is undead or monsters. Was this an attempt by Odin to stop Ragnarok from ever happening?

I just finished that bit too. Doing some sidequests now but seems to be a lot. There are 9 realms after all!

Also hitting the point where I've unlocked a ton of abilities and it makes the game dramatically easier. Thinking of upping it to nightmare mode now.

I don't think you can move it up to the highest difficulty without starting over, I'm not sure why that is.

Am I the only fucking idiot who constantly forgets to recall the axe when I'm in the middle of fighting a pack of monsters?

I had that problem at first but once you get to the point where there's projectile throwing assholes everywhere, plus fliers, poisoners, and all the other annoying shit it's pretty hard to forget the axe because you're throwing it non-stop.

Usually I forget to recall it after using it to open a chest then run into a group of enemies trying to do the jumping lunge attack.

I love this game so much that I'm going to stop playing and order a 4k TV.

Any recommendations for great picture quality, at least 65 inches? (4k HDR, the usual stuff)

My PS4 Pro fan does go into super fast mode, even more so if I let it sit on the map screen oddly enough.

The Sony 930E is a pretty bomb ass TV. Should be it's normal "sale" price of about 2k right now.
