I'm sure Oberyn had more illegitimate children. They haven't introduced them on the show, but they're around somewhere.

They're not doing a very good job of making it seem like winter is here. All the scenes and sets look exactly like they did season 1.

Yeah I predict we don't see another scene or plot line involving Dorne at this point. Too much going on with the areas that haven't had their head of state removed.

The story is now collapsing to a single plot as fast as it can instead of multiple areas represented. Season 8 might not have to cut to a different location ever.

The Sam jump was the one that was jarring to me while watching too, cause we open with Jon at dragonstone, so time has passed, then we see Sam and it's like the next morning, but i figured its just cause they wanted the Jon and daeny opener, everything else did make sense in terms of time

I assumed that the treatment took many weeks, but then I recalled the whole 'since you are a knight you can have until the morning...' business.

In the previous episode, the Archmaester said he had to gtfo the next day, that's why it doesn't make sense.

If we assume large swaths of time pass between scenes, they're not doing a great job of showing it. I don't know HOW they would, but it's the viewer natural inclination to assume no time has passed unless shown otherwise. And the show paints itself into corner by giving specifics where it has no need. 1000 ships, a fortnight to pillage House Tyrell and pay back the Iron Bank.

I disagree that the Iron Fleet catching up the Unsullied as believable. Funny thing is that, tactically and chronologically, it would have made sense for the Unsullied to desert Casterly Rock, get back in their ships, THEN the Iron Fleet jumps them. Guess we can't have Grey Worm dying just yet!

At this point I assume that all storylines are not happening in unison. Like the jorah stuff maybe happened awhile ago. Especially since we'll see him next week.

Although sam sent the dragon glass raven that arrived in 36 minutes.

Thought this episode was a bit boring.

Yeah that was just straight up bad writing which has been the weakness of the show since it moved past the source material, especially where dialog is concerned.

This episode was good. Clearly they've done away with any pretense of travel time. You want to see the queen? Next episode, you're at the queen! Nobody has time for "on the road" scenes with so few episodes left. I'm torn on Euron. On one hand, he's hilarious, on the other hand it's almost cartoonish. I lol'd at him calling Theon a twat for jumping off the boat.

So far the spoilers leaked last year have been 3 for 3. Every episode they outlined has pretty much come exactly true. The number is much higher because there are around 6-12 things per episode they have predicted plus a lot of random things they didn't know which episode they were going to be placed in.

The video that Sylas dismissed as fan fiction is directly from those spoilers.

So Sam and his autistic looking wildling wife had their kid after the white walkers were on the march and were a known quantity (after hardhome even?). That kid is like 3-4 years old now when we saw him last, so the white walkers have been marching the last few hundred miles or whatever it is south to the wall for damn near half a decade now? The reed chick dragged the yoda cripple the entire distance they need to cross by herself already; get fucking moving you zombie bastards.

Arya turned around to go north, and in the time it's taking her to get there from near the twin forts Jon has sailed across the fucking world and multiple castle sieges and army movements have happened.

I don't usually like to nitpick about this kind of shit, but it's really getting out of fucking control at this point.
This actually brought up a good point. Arya wasn't too far from Winterfell; maybe halfway between there and Kings Landing.

And yet in the time she's been traveling, Euron has sailed basically around the entire continent from KL to Casterly Rock. What the fuck is taking her so long?

Yea i was assuming the Jorah stuff was happening right after Sam sent the raven to Jon and during Jon's travels to Dragonstone. Sam spent the next few weeks/months copying that table of books the ArchMaester gave him.

i am not having an issue with time jumping around for the most part, with the one exception of how Kings landing is almost completely barricaded by ~100mile gap between dragonstone and the closest land and somehow Euron is free to move in and out whenever he wants. we are assuming he captured Yara on the way to Dorne and somehow managed to pull back into kings landing right by Dany's fleet and Dragons. then he managed to leave again and sail all the way around the continent to Casterly Rock with no one noticing, it would be a lot more believable if they just showed Greyjoy's ships and not Euron's specifically.

I also found it odd that Highgarden was defeated so easily, i know several of their Bannerman turned on them but i thought their army was generally well staffed and their grain stores were stocked so they could have just turtled and survived a protracted siege for quite a while. In the books Highgarden had a more depleted army since Cersei kept sending them out on suicide missions, like sending them to retake Dragonstone and Loras getting the oil dumped on him.

Also, lol at Bran being basically Morpheus now and can see the code in the matrix.

The iron fleet is just fucking silly. Complete stealth combined with Vary's transporter technology.

better or worse, then lanisters have taken heavy losses, are outnumbered by Tyrell 10:1, leave 30% of their people at Castelyrock and STILL manage to storm Highgarden.
"They just walked in and took your suit?!"

Alot of people try thinking logistics, and tactics in these threads. its pretty clear the showrunners do not give a shit. distance, food, army size, etc do not matter. its all about the lead actors. No concern for moral, commoners, etc. armies are magicked out of nowhere to fill ranks.

So at this point Dany has just the Dothraki and dragons to take down KL correct?

Yes, realistic battle parameters and travel time is not a focus here. We've got a lot of shit to get covered in the final 10 hours of show(is it 10 or 11?). To be fair, though, much of the battles in the books happened "off screen" due to the POV style and Martin was never really big on the fine military details.

Still enjoyed the dialogue between Tyrion and Jon. Yeah the fast travel is off the rails. Would be helpful to show the passing of time IMO.

I gauge time by how much more annoying Daenerys is, each time we see her. It was quite clear this episode that it had been several months since we last saw her.

It's obvious time has passed but they really need to illustrate it effectively. Sam's shit porridge montage was a good way for his arc.

I don't get the Euron love. hear me out....

he shows up and throws an old man off a rope bridge. then drowns himself and comes back to life. as someone that hasn't read the books, I don't 'know' this character at all. next thing you know, he has more Iron Born followers than his sister that's been leading them the whole time? he builds a fuckton of 'new' ships that are rotflstomping the ships the brother & sister stole? huge ships yet stealth mode, ok. out of no where, he's able to get an audience w/ Cersei ? like most characters, i'm sure there's more character development in teh books, but just seems like you get leading character w/o any build up.

love what he's doing, just don't get why I should care about him, want him to win beyond wanting to see him do more of what he's doing.
