better or worse, then lanisters have taken heavy losses, are outnumbered by Tully 10:1, leave 30% of their people at Castelyrock and STILL manage to storm Highgarden.
"They just walked in and took your suit?!"

Alot of people try thinking logistics, and tactics in these threads. its pretty clear the showrunners do not give a shit. distance, food, army size, etc do not matter. its all about the lead actors. No concern for moral, commoners, etc. armies are magicked out of nowhere to fill ranks.

This is the only part that pisses me off about all of it. I don't care about logistics and shit. It's TV.

But for the past several seasons the Lannister army has been taking it up the ass. The Tyrell's had every advantage. Even if Randyll Tarly defected there's no reason to believe that the majority of the Tyrell armies just defected too.

That the Great Sept of Baelor was blown up with every the entire Tyrell family and god knows how many other nobles and their heirs and the only one who escaped was the one who was guaranteed to be the most fucked by the High Sparrow's court. Cersei.

No, they all ignore this and betray all of their regional/family allegiances for someone who has demonstrated that she is crazy as fuck and will kill anyone and ignore any alliance the instant it suits her to do so. Why? Who the fuck would do that? The only one who's actions make sense right now are Euron's.

And yet, we had a scene this week with Sansa talking logistics about food stores and even piddly shit like not lining steel armor in leather during the winter.

It just shows a lack of quality writing. It's not necessarily "bad," it's just that it could be a whole lot better. Just cut the Sansa scene and leave creepy Littlefinger (I'm thinking for sure his speech has some future implications).

I don't get the Euron love. hear me out....

he shows up and throws an old man off a rope bridge. then drowns himself and comes back to life. as someone that hasn't read the books, I don't 'know' this character at all. next thing you know, he has more Iron Born followers than his sister that's been leading them the whole time? he builds a fuckton of 'new' ships that are rotflstomping the ships the brother & sister stole? huge ships yet stealth mode, ok. out of no where, he's able to get an audience w/ Cersei ? like most characters, i'm sure there's more character development in teh books, but just seems like you get leading character w/o any build up.

love what he's doing, just don't get why I should care about him, want him to win beyond wanting to see him do more of what he's doing.

He's much more devious in the books. He becomes the king of the Iron Islands by killing off his brother the King. He wins the kingsmoot by bringing a ridiculous amount of treasure from his years of reaving and just giving it away to secure support.

He continues gathering more support by giving things to key supporters of his opponents. Like, for example, they take over some islands with castles on them and just gives them away to some of his brother's supporters. Solidifying his position. He is interesting because he does not value gold, gems, land or whatever almost like the Joker. He just calls gems, silk and gold, "rocks and rags." Unlike other captains he gives the majority of the loot to his crew. So they are extremely loyal despite him being nuts.

He's also interesting in the show because he is funny and somewhat flamboyant; Tyrion and even Bronn (to a lesser degree) used to fill those roles.

Don't forget the Dragonhorn. That was pretty key to Euron winning the Kingsmoot.

Yeah dude makes an entrance by spilling a wagon full of treasure and having some guy blow a magical horn that kills him and makes your ears ring for a few hours.

Quite the flair for the dramatic. It was awesome.

This episode was good. Clearly they've done away with any pretense of travel time. You want to see the queen? Next episode, you're at the queen! Nobody has time for "on the road" scenes with so few episodes left.

Yeah, it's just wanking off to point it out now, and I think it would be very hard to argue that the show would be better with realistic travel times. It would just make the story 10x longer and more boring if they even attempted to be realistic. We only have like 10 episodes left, let's stick to the action and not worry about how long it takes to ride a horse 1800 miles.

Euron also got a lot of backstory in the books via Victarion, who isn't in the show at all. I think the writers had no idea how to properly flesh him out without going into the whole kingsmoot subplot so they just decided to give him the best lines and make him a crazed beast in battle.

Yeah, i am actually ok with it thus far, we already have too many converging plot lines with so little time left to play them out. I am ready for everyone to be where they ultimately are supposed to be and for the final battles to start.

yeah. I mentioned it back when she blew up the Sept. kings landing should be rioting. ALL of the kingdoms should be in full meltdown mode. That these lords, commoners, etc would just be marching around the world left and right, while everyone is starving is ridiculous. There would be constant rebellions. Robin hood like characters, etc. minor lords rebelling, defecting, etc. full on French revolution. Kings landing would have been sacked by the peasants already.

I thin kthe Tyrells got caught off guard. They didnt think their banners would flip and they didnt think Lannisters would attack while Casterly rock was being besieged. They commanded t he largest army not because of t heir house alone, but their banners. And it seems like all Tyrell had at her disposal was her in house "golden Roses" as she said, who werent ever great fighters.

Queen of Thorns got PLAYED. And now the "best" remaining field general in Tarly led a combined force to crush her keep. More importantly, the LAnnisters have given up their home and basically stopped caring about being Lannisters, and care only about the Iron Throne. I have to imagine that if Tarly turned, then all of the tyrell banners turned.

Dorne is shit. They never cared about anything going on up there. The only thing that brought them into the current conflict is Oberyn avenging Elia, or trying to. Im sure they have a part to play in the books but have been written out for TV sake. Hell we never saw more than 15 dornish at once anyways.

And yes, that was the same body double. Lena doesnt have nearly that large of breasts.

Yes, realistic battle parameters and travel time is not a focus here. We've got a lot of shit to get covered in the final 10 hours of show(is it 10 or 11?). To be fair, though, much of the battles in the books happened "off screen" due to the POV style and Martin was never really big on the fine military details.

10-11 hours and we act like it's no time when compared to the LoTR trilogy extended editions are just over 11 hrs. A LOT can be done in 11 hours.

Im rustled that Randal Tarly has such a fucking smug look on his face WHEN HE DOESNT EVEN HAVE HIS MAIN WEP. This fucking guy is going into battle with a shit tier basic 2 hander with zero enchantments and isnt even pissed? WHERE THE FUCK IS HEARTSBANE.

Anyway, pretty good episode. Kind of confusing there at the end when they go from Casterly to Highgarden in a blink. Seeing Bronn was the best part of this entire episode.

edit: Also, I call lame on The little sand snakes poison death. Cersei trots out Sir Zombro just to reference the Oberyn battle? I was hoping he was going to at least get in some good ol fashioned rape. I guess having a monstrous beast rape a young woman is a bridge too far at this point?

Also, if the preview is any indicator we're back to using Dragons to win like others have said. Which, if she did in the first place all of Dany's allies would still be alive and kicking.

The strategy to melt down the Red Keep and just declare victory was always the best. Only took ridiculous losses to realize that... also after Tyrion dissuaded you from it because of, "muh ashes!"

I think they're doing a great job of believably evening the odds between Dany and Cersei. At the start of the season it was pretty hard to imagine how Dany wouldn't just steamroll Cersei, but I like how they're showing that despite Dany's numerical strength, she (and her advisers) aren't nearly as cunning and capable as Cersei and her people.

Really hope that all this leads to Dany using her dragons, causing more strife for the common folk which leads the people to hate her more than Cersei.

It even comes through on the show. He doesn't value the stuff, he values the mayhem. Not Chaos, like littlefinger. Mayhem, like Odin.

Littlefinger is Neutral Evil. Euron is Chaotic Evil. Cersei is Lawful Evil. Jaime is just a one handed cuck.

And yeah, if Dany is becoming more like book Dany then I can see why book readers really hate her. That shit was insufferable. And I don't think it was supposed to be.

Littlefinger: See and think about everything all the time, and you will win.
few minutes later
Sansa: What is the Three Eyed Raven?
Bran: I see and hear everything.
Sansa: I have to go!
