Dany doesn't want to take over by force though, Tyrion said that if she just kills every civilian she sees and melts kings landing she will always be a foreign invading power. She wants to be seen as a liberator the way the slaves in Meeren see her, she wants a dynasty not just to be another Cersei who just wants power for herself.

splitting up the army was a good idea at the time, but she didn't know there was a stealth fleet roaming around that can fuck her whenever they want.

I don't think Dany can win. Euron and his fleet can literally fight 2 battles at once and can even stop for a hotdog and a beer in KL at the turn.

Decent episode, loved Olennas end. Has to be said though, the two series leads having zero acting ability and no chemistry together was.....interesting. Bran as well was fucking shit

I think it's important to Dany and crew that shes not viewed as being like her father. Even John Snow came in with the attitude that they were one in the same and going in and melting the red keep and all around it would be exactly what the Mad King would do.

Which, I kindof wish he called her on that a bit or something.

"I am not my father, you can't blame me for his sins. Now, kneel and swear fealty to my based on my fathers lineage."
That is some have your cake, and eat it too shit. John Snow should have declared House Targaryan dead. It ended when the mad king turned on his people. If she wants to claim Ladyship over a new house, that is another matter. Either way, that line has no rightful claim to the throne.

I thought it was a good episode. Only thing that bothered me is I wish we would of gotten more out of the Casterly Rock battle considering this was supposed to be the traditional Lannister seat of power that's been referenced numerous times in the books/show.

He kinda did. He told her that as near as he could tell her entire claim to legitimacy rested with the name of her father (and the huge army that she is systematically suiciding).

I mean they telegraphed that so. fucking. hard. with her list of titles in the first scene. It was heavyhanded and tedious. And Davos was great. "Uhh, This is Jon Snow. He's pretty cool."

Except that would fly right in the face of the speech he gave earlier about the two northern houses not being judged for their fathers sins and wouldn't strip them of their birth right?

Well, he addressed that too. He was basically elected King. And Dany told him, "We all enjoy doing what we're good at" and he replied "No. Not me."

Dany came off like a real cunt at the exact time in the story where she can't afford to be and is pretending not to be -- is the upshot. lol. But i'm sure that the reviews are all "strong female role model" and whatever. She came off incredibly childish. Yeah, she's supposed to be like 14 in the books or whatever. It's a little late in the series to be exploring that aspect of her character.

She came off as a woman asserting her authority on a side of the world where men dominate everything and laying claim to something shes worked for the last 6ish years or so in the show to take. I dont see that as childish at all. Westeros respects power and authority, she gave both in that meeting.

To be fair, how many people has she had in her ear feeding her constant bullshit on how great she is. At some point that stuff goes to your head.

Well, that's the whole thing isn't it. For all her talk of "breaking the wheel" she sure is acting exactly like another cog in it. Except, you know, stupider and frittering away an unlosable election.

If I'm Jon Snow i've got a real case of "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" going on too.

Exactly. they had a long discussion about the appearance of a targaryen supported by dothraki mongoloids running through Kings landing. No one would ever see her as a true born leader but a barbarian. She doesnt want t he dragons OR dothraki taking a city.

Except that would fly right in the face of the speech he gave earlier about the two northern houses not being judged for their fathers sins and wouldn't strip them of their birth right?

Jon snow should have thrown it in her face more for that he isnt KING IN DA NORF because of a birthright or a ancient promise, but because he was chosen to protect his people. Fuck her claim to his allegiance based on dead men. Hes not a stark. He owes no oath.

I dunno how realistic that is though, the Targs were only the kings prior to that because they were Valyrian with Valyrian soldiers and dragons. It took a little while for someone to rise up against them without the dragons, but before that its not like anyone loved them. They conquered. Dany should be thinking the same. Like me or not I'm your queen because I will burn you out. Secondarily, I'm also a good queen.

This whole "don't burn down KL and be a foreign invader" is just their way of making the conclusion not so obvious.

Yep. The Dany hate bandwagon is kind of stupid, she did great this episode.

Well...I mean, he is a Stark...just not the son of the Stark everyone thinks.

A friend of mine who is reading the books and hasn't watched beyond the first season keeps telling me Dany and John are going to get married. It makes me chuckle but thinking about it...I wouldn't put it past the series to do so.

Though in reality I think the White Walkers are going to win anyway.
