... right, but all we know from the book is she said a word and then snatched up Jamie taking him back to certain doom. I am pretty sure it won't work out like that, though.
What won't work out? GRRM confirmed she said "sword". If the author saying "Yes, what you suggested is exactly what happened" isn't cannon, that's all there is until it's flatly explained away elsewhere in the books (and a hint: it's not going to be).

Do I need to go find the video of him saying this to prove that it's "sword" she yelled, or is that not going to be good enough either?

What do you not understand about "from the books?" Obviously his statements are probably true, but this probably isn't the place for that given how many people purposely avoid spoilers from future books. From the books, she said something and then showed up to get Jamie, that's it.

I don't think it will work out like that because I don't think Cat or Brienne will kill Jamie.

I don't think anyone's suggesting that things are going to go as planned.

My DVR is auto recording from 9:45-10:00 PM EST tonight...

"In preparation for the premiere of the show's third season, a series of detailed and informative film clips provide interested viewers with an in-depth look at the important events that took place during the second season."

So, I'm ready for abuse for this, but here I go:

I haven't seen the show or read the book yet. In an ultimate geekiness, I've read a bunch of the wiki as I play the tabletop RPG (which is quite good actually). I just realized I currently have HBO and it has both seasons of Game of Thrones OnDemand.

Is it going to be totally ruined for me though if I watch now and think of Tuco and Keg every time I see Ned and Jamie? Have the memes and knowing about the world and story hurt the viewing of the show or is it still such a great piece of work it is a great ride? I haven't followed these threads of course, but now that I'm thinking of it, I don't think I've heard anyone say anything really bad about the series, so I'm guessing the answer is "STFU and press PLAY you loser!"?

She said sword. I guess that whole part of "The author said she saidsword" is just as hard to parse as the text in the books. Was Renly gay in the book? I don't know, GRRM didn't say, but he told HBO "Yeah, lots of gay sex with Renly is in character" when they brought it up to them.

We know "from the book" that she lived after having been given the opportunity to either die or swear her sword to Stoneheart, and we know "from the author" that she said sword. That's cannon, it's as good as printed in the book (or please, go ahead and prove me wrong by citing an example where GRRM said something definite in a setting and then deliberately and verbosely eradicated that exact scenario as not happening in the books).

Just because Brienne said sword doesn't mean she is going to try and kill Jaime or turn him in. She just said it to save Podrick and Hyle. She sure as shit isn't going to kill Jaime, who she clearly loves and admires.

Jesus fuck. This is like that bullshit jk rowling spewed that dumbledore was gay even though it was never mentioned in the books. We dont know jamie will die. If its not in the books it didnt fucking happen. I dont care what the author says. Until that shit is in print then its just a possibility.

That's cute. You think because someone is loved and admired that they won't die. Please let Sean Bean know he'll be back to reprise Ned St

What fucking argument are you even having?
That we know what Brienne said.

I never said Jaime would die, I said we knew Brienne yelledsword. That is her swearing her sword to Stoneheart (in order to save Payne), who told Brienne to kill Jaime. Next time Brienne is seen, she's luring Jaime away from his escort to the fight Sandor (who never had Sansa, and is already dead/in-the-monastery at that point) to save Sansa (who is in the vale). Now I'm not going to go and make any suppositions, but those are all facts confirmed by the book or by GRRM himself. We know what word she said, we know she's luring Jaime away from his escort.

All I meant is that from the book we do not know her intentions. From the book, it looks very bad for Jamie, but we don't, and won't, know until TWoW. I don't keep up with the interviews the guy does or read the sample chapters, since we all know the book won't be coming out in this decade. Which is why I specified "from the book." Hell, even from what GRRM said in the interview we don't know much more, only the word she said. Judging Brienne's character I would assume she has some sort of play but who the hell knows.

nah, after he said "yes that's the right word" he went on to explain why she said it. She does seem to follow her bonds pretty strongly, though I'm not sure how she'll deal with the conflict of killing a man that there is a somewhat mutual attraction to versus breaking her oath to Stoneheart (and potentially killing payne and otherdude with the oath breaking). But the last bit is supposition.

Read what I said. I said BRIENNE wouldn't kill Jaime. I don't know if Jaime is going to live or not, but its fairly obviously Brienne won't kill him.

Certainly your argument that "she said sword, so she is going to kill him" is fucking stupid.

considering that sword is what Jaime gave her as a present for rescuing him. its most likely she said sword as in Jaime's sword as in i swear to Jaime. In other words, get the fuck out, -AhOle
