I think I read they changed the joust because "some things are just impossible to do." More or less..

The theories in the non-spoiler thread are pretty hilarious. They seem to be focused on the pie and even some are considering the close-up of the pie to show that it was indeed the pie. Some guy said that white powder flew out of the pie when he cut it and that might be poison. They also said the cup was too far away from old hag to be poisoned with anything.

I love it.

yeah the tinfoil hat theories are great, i find it even better when one thinks they're onto something.. the others are like OMG SPOILER!?! and start to get angry lol
tin foil theories are okay until one potentially is correct, then they're kicked out of the kingdom!

I kind of wish that was shown in the background during the pie cut in a subtle way nobody would see until they replayed it (kind of like the jewel snatch). I also think there's a chance Margery did the actual poisoning since Olenna was shown as fairly far away from the cup at all times. It'd be a massive risk for her to get near the cup with that many people watching.

Someone is going to inevitably show a gif of Olenna snatching the jewel. Most people think she did it anyway because of the smug look she gave right before it happened. I don't remember in the book when they say what poisoned him exactly, but it'll come up for sure during Tyrion's trial.

Oh another thing that cracked me up was Olenna clowning Mace Tyrell who in terms of power was equal to Eddard Stark, Tywin Lannister etc. I imagine show only viewers don't really know who he is, but her embarrassing him is hilarious. It's cool seeing all these characters in the show again since I encounter them all the time in (Game of Thrones) A Clash of Kings (1.2 released 8th of April)(I'm currently one of the lords under Stannis and have almost completely wiped out the Tyrells.)

Who did Stannis burn in the last episode? Was it Imry Florent who in the books died in Blackwater?

Bro, i said from what i got out of it, it was to show that by some fluke chance when he chopped the pie it got one of the birds that flew out. I edited the post to clarify that =p
