I can't really see why they would skip that. I know she's on another show or whatever, but to me that was the biggest "holy shit what is this" part of the end of book 3
Not sure if they are going to include it or not, I doubt it tbh, but it's not really that big a deal if they don't. In fact it's probably better for the TV story that they don't.

Does it serve the TV series to have zombie cat's body appear in 1 or 2 scenes? She's not a POV character, she's (thus far) not even that essential plot wise. Could just as easily have the bwob capture brienne and podrick, just a few minor adjustments to write her out of the show completely. And she's nothing like the Catelyn that the TV watchers have come to know. She's merely the spirit of vengeance residing in Catelyn's bloated, dead 3 days zombified body. she doesn't even speak.

also not sure I agree about the "holy shit" moment of her return. it seemed obvious once Arya pulled her body out of the river as nymeria. Her resurrection always felt like a bone that GRRM threw at you for writing the red wedding, and entirely unnecessary. It certainly wasn't as big of a "holy shit" moment as Tywin's death or Baelish's grand reveal was (which the show has somewhat screwed up already).

Did you? Tell me how many POV chapters lady stone heart has.

not really.

She's mentioned and referenced throughout the later half of the book, but really the BWOB pretty much dissolves when she is resurrected and what few follow her just go about hanging a few freys. She doesn't do anything else until the bwob brings Brienne to her.

It was the prologue to AFFC and the kid he murdered was an apprentice in the Citadel named Pate. He's not traveling anywhere, certainly not towards Dany. Sam ends up meeting "Pate" when he arrives at the Citadel toward the middle of AFFC. After that we haven't heard anything. You are getting details confused.
I went back to the chapter. Archmaster Marwyn is the one headed to Slaver's Bay and he is the one who warns Sam about keeping his mouth shut about magic and reveals the Citadel is the entity that has been working to destroy magic, but you're right, it doesn't imply Fake Pate or Sam are going directly, although "Pate" does seem to be under the umbrella of Marwyn.

I've always wondered what his mission was (Jaq). So we know he "starts" in Kings Landing in the dungeons. Who is secretly running access to the dungeons? Varys. Varys also seems rather well versed with the Faceless and discourages Robert from using one vs. Dany by indicating they cost a lot. Jaq also goes to a fair bit of trouble to assume the identity of someone inside the Citadel, so we can assume his ultimate target is either someone inside the Citadel or someone the Maesters will be visiting/getting involved with.

Yes but she's instrumental in turning the BWOB from a group fighting for the small folk, to one that hates and murders Freys/Lannisters. Especially since they look likely to capture Riverrun in the next book.

Them adding frey's to people they kill doesn't require much after the RW. with or without LS it's simple for the TV show to justify having them hunt down freys.

And where are you getting that the bwob is likely to capture riverrun in the next book? Some teaser chapters I haven't seen?

Your sentence there states that Cat had no significant effect on the books' plots

I really hated Uncat in the books. I felt the Brienne cliffhanger was stupid and felt just as silly as the Jon being dead cliffhanger in ADWD. So, if they want to take her out, fine with me. They can just have the BWB annoyed at the evils of the red wedding and lock Brienne up because they think she killed Renly or some shit.

I never liked uncat either. But I guess I never liked Catelyn anyway.

Why does Uncat have power again? I forget why people are following her.

The Brotherhood was anti-Lannister from the start; they all probably knew who Cat was. When Beric gave his (un)life to bring her back, it was probably just natural to switch allegiance to her. She was Lady Stark, after all, one of the the most important women in both the North and the Riverlands, and her new Stoneheart form was still all about killing Lannisters and Freys.

Also, they were probably scared to death of her; at least, I get the sense that Thoros was.
