Really surprised how fast shits going this season, thought it would have been dragged out. Who was it that woke up in bed for next weeks preview?

That sonuva!....I was just asking someone at work the other day about Littlefinger. Hadn't heard from him in awhile.

Still, did people really think all the shit with Joffrey/Jaime would have happened 2-3 episodes in?

Jaime raping his sister in front of their dead kid. I'm not sure why they changed it to rape but I bet George smiled when he saw that scene.

These 3 episodes have had a lot more new stuff filled in than prior seasons it seems. So they've cut stuff, but expanded on the stories and characters they've concentrated on. The little bit with Pod was a nice touch. They're also playing up the mystery angle, with even Tywin looking strongly suspect. Sure, Littlefinger made his appearance but that doesn't mean people will assume he masterminded the whole thing. Tyrion's quip about Cercei being the only person not a suspect for a change was spot on.

The stuff with Sam was obnoxious though. It's like we can't have an episode where there isn't 5 minutes of "who the fuck cares?"

I only realized he was the villain from Last Action Hero during his dialogue with Tommen.

I really liked Tywin's speech to Tommen. For all of Tywin's cunning and intellect it's his lack of wisdom that leaves his house in ruins. Plus Dance fucking nails it.

Yeah it's hard to align the way he treats Tommen with the way he treats Cersei and Jaimie. Even the way he treats Tyrion, while understandable and consistent, is imbalanced.

And I guess they're going full blown good king with Tommen and not silly kitten boy with him.

I think that's part of what makes Tywin Tywin. His first son only wants to play soldier boy, his daughter's a pure cunt, and the one with an actual brain not only killed his wife but is a dwarf. Joffrey was a cruel twat, which leaves Tommen, who is still pliable. Even though his speech was good, what he really stressed was that wise kings should listen to him.

It makes sense. Tywin has been teaching lessons to his kids since the show began. His treats his kids harshly and not without a little contempt because he thinks that they have failed to take heed of his lessons. Tommen hasn't failed him in his eyes yet. It's Tywin's ego that prevents him from seeing that all his kids have taken his teachings to heart, Tyrion most of all.

It was a nice juxtaposition to see Tywin lecturing on wisdom, which he does not have, while Tyrion actually employs it.

Tywin is one of the wisest people on the show. He just views compassion as a weakness, something Olenna Tyrell doesn't do.

i hope i wasnt the only person who had a small hope that when daeny was looking for a champion a very large scarred man in the background was going to pipe up that he would do it. i shed a tear for the lack of strong belwas today. good episode, i have to say the fenns are just plain ridiculous villains. the wildlings are fucking savage enough, did they really need to introduce a tribe of kirgans as well? and littlefinger all but said he was behind joffrey's death when he said money pays for everything.

Littlefinger *is* behind everything, I hope they don't cut his explanation to Sansa on why he killed Joffrey - it just sums up his character so perfectly:

?Why should I wish him dead?? Littlefinger shrugged. ?I had no motive. Besides, I am a thousand leagues away in the Vale. Always keep your foes confused.
