Something that is never mentioned is how he seemingly knows several foreign languages and the culture of everywhere. To top it off, he's like a mini-Varys: Dany always ask him to find out about some random fucking things and he's always right on the ball with all the information within 24hours. Dude has been pretty good at providing intel.
He took some levels in Bard.

The beetle thing was just a general metaphor for the nature of life and the cruelty we find in it. Facing his execution, Tyrion is looking for anything to hang a purpose on. Jaime is decent enough to be honest and tell him, "I don't know."

It's easy to overthink that beetle thing I guess. It wasn't specific in any way. Just a general "why do we suffer? Orson suffered his handicap, the beetles suffered his unintelligible purpose. Why? What's the point?"

The sort of thought that goes through a mans mind the night before he's taken to the gallows.

I've realised that I'm now Reek and George R R Martin is my Ramsey.

As I sit here twitching and shaking at all the shocking and bizarre things he's put me through. I am still loyal to his every wish and whim.

What is it you want from me next, my Lord?
So fucking true.......I feel like by the time I am through watching this saga unfold its going to warp me as a human being.

I am worried the overall story is going to start taking a nose dive. We will still get awesome scenes but where is this even headed? I want White Walkers zombifying the country side, Dragons rampaging, and awesome characters doing something other than dying. It feels like all this investment is never going to amount to anything.
I've wondered this myself in the past, like when Ned Stark died, or after the Red Wedding, but I am really worried if they kill off Tyrion because in my opinion he is one of the last few super main characters that I enjoy watching. Outside of Tyrion l give 2 shits about Kings Landing/Lannisters, Brann's story sucks, Boltons and Theon's storyline is dumb, Stannis's story sucks, that little Stark idiot cousin that likes to make people fly is retarded, and so is Sansa, and the wall has gotten pretty dull. The only story arcs I really care for anymore are Tyrions, the Hound, and Dany's but she got rid of Jorah the dumb bitch. Obviously they could bring in more characters, or put the current ones in better arcs, but I am a little worried.

Also, I'm suprised no one else mentioned it, but Grey Worm? I think that's his name, checking out that one chick and then telling his story to her, you can tell he is falling in love with her and we all know how pure/good things end in Game of Thrones. I have to wonder if he isn't gonna get fucked up, or her, especially with Dany fucking shit up getting rid of Jorah.

i am pretty much just watching to see neat scenes and people die. don't see how anyone gets that invested into the characters. fairly certain only the people/storylines i can not stand will make it to the end of the show.
given up on the white walkers ever doing anything productive, other than probably killing off the wildlling army just to deny us some cool battles. even it they make it to the wall, would take 10 seasons to make it out of the north.

This is the type of story where you can't think about the big picture.

The whole thing of it is that he's not telling any particular story, as such. He's describing an environment or a "World" and he's doing that by telling a lot of little stories. You sort of have to view the thing as an anthology of connected short stories, tbh. So many of us were complaining about his sprawl. It's story cancer. The only way it's not atrocious storytelling is if you take the alt view that he's creating this different sort of form.

And he might be doing exactly that. You can't know until the final page is written. He has passed the point where he can do anything else, though. He's either accidentally written himself into 5,000 different corners by trying to write himself out of them or he's intentionally structured a series of stories to create something more than the sum of their parts.

Might just be why it's taking him so long to finish the work. That second one is either where magic happens or the fraud is exposed.

Jorah was who she genuinely listened to, and even loved. He was the one that was there from the very beginning when she was getting buttraped as a fish out of water child. He's also exceedingly more practical and blunt than any of the other advisors. And from a story standpoint everything starts going south for her from here on out. Had Jorah been there she likely wouldn't have made many of the decisions that she did. I'm also fairly sure in one of her later chapters she sadly muses on what his advice would have been.
As I said, she'd have been better served keeping Ser Jorah around, because he was reliable for offering a counterview to Ser Barristan, and she needed that. The show would have been better for sticking closer to the books for this part of their story imo. His dismissal would have made more sense.

On the show, Ser Barristan confessed his "sins" to her when they first met, saying he had let her family down. She should have given at least equal weight to Jorah's loyal service, and forgiven him as quickly as she did a man she didn't know for the 10 seconds it took him to kill a poisonous insect and bend a knee.

It's easy to overthink that beetle thing I guess. It wasn't specific in any way. Just a general "why do we suffer? Orson suffered his handicap, the beetles suffered his unintelligible purpose. Why? What's the point?"

You know that losing Jorah is bad for Dany simply because Tywin orchestrated his removal from her side and pretty much every strategical move that guy makes is money. Well, up until he either shares a glass or wine with Oberyn and/or underestimates Varys and/or Tyrion.
Next week is going to blow peoples' minds

Edit: Maybe not, looking at the cast listings it might not be til episode 10

Yea, gonna say naked Missandei won the "hottest scene" award for the episode. Been waiting for that actress to get naked since she was introduced!

Just figured I would post everyone's (that has a dick) favorite scene from this week.

i would link it but the best scene (for anyone who has a dick) would probably go to the brown sugar goddess getting naked in the stream. other than that..by the Gods..such a good episode. the fight scene was so awesome and i was feeling so happy and good about it but couldnt help forget about what a bastard GRRM is..ned stark..etc.. personally i knew with 100% certainty right as oberyn said "no no no you cant die yet you havent confessed" with the mountain lying on his back, and the line before the bout "size doesn't matter when youre on your back" ... he was fucked. dead as could fucking be..said outloud fuckkkkk hes leaving him alive too long. on top of how shitty it was that he died it was really implausible that he would let down his guard and footing so badly after fighting so perfectly to just get armswept by a half dead brute, fall flat on his ass (not happening with his agility even if he got his feet knocked from under him, Wakandan like that catch his ass) then get his skull exploded. sadness.. 2 episodes to go.

p.s. khaleesi is a cunt dont even care anymore... hasnt been naked enough either.

Out of the whole scene, yeah it sucks he died but you KNEW deep down he was going to.

How the fuck does BOTH of them killing each other equate to ONLY one is guilty? Shouldn't it be like some kinda... something?

Arghrghjahgaha is it sunday!

How would Dany be any better off now if she hadn't exiled Jorah? She would still be getting invaded on all sides, and she would still
win the battle of Mereen thanks to Victarion and Barristan.
