Epilogue

Bronn and the Bad Pussy

The White Walkers were repelled. The Wheel was broken. And Bronn had survived it all.

Land and title meant nothing in the New Westeros, but, for his trouble, Bronn still had some souvenirs. Longclaw, its ever-perfectly-forged gleam belying its hard use in saving the world, was hilted at his hip, and Bronn had at least managed to set aside some of Littlefinger's cache for himself.

But he also had some scars, and one poisonous nick remained particularly scabrous. The cure, Bronn knew, would be found in Dorne, and so he set off, against his better judgment, to find his sandcastle siren Tyene.
I really think they wrap shit up in 7 seasons by what has transpired in 5. I personally did not think we would be at the end of a lot of plot points by this point in the show but we are. You figure season 6 covers book 6 and 7 covers the last book. I dont think they will do another 2 seasons for 1 book like they did before at this point.

Although an 8th season about Bronn in the new Westeros i would watch lol.

I always assumed she would have to choose between being a faceless man or a water dancer at some point. She probably stays blind. I doubt water dancers really need to see with their eyes anyway.
I've always assumed we're headed towards a situation in which she is tasked to kill someone Arya loves or cares about.

Reading the stuff that is coming out seems more and more like if they do bring Jon back, it'll be under the idea that "Jon Snow" is dead, but Jon will be back once the big reveal of his parentage is solved.
Kill the boy and let the man be born!

I dont think Arya is going to be one of the faceless. I think she is going to get all trained up and fail the final exam and go out on her own with many of the skills but still remaining a Stark. She is a killer but she has a purpose. She wants to right the wrongs done to her and her family. I dont think when she is really tested she that purpose will line up with the motives of the facelss men. They kill for coin, when it comes down to it Arya is motivated by revenge which is also is connected to Honor. Honor is the main traight of all the Stark Characters which ends up being many of thier downfalls. She will head back to westeros with new abilities to and redeem her family by clearing her list which i imagine will create ripples in other areas of the plot (Cersei or Mel perhaps). Of course just as Arya has fufilled her role and finaly about to find peace she will die in a horribly unexpected way, Maybe even to a faceless man.

Im really curious how much shit from the books is pointless, seems like LSH and lots of other characters end up being pretty worthless in the overall story if they cut them out

So with the faceless men (and maybe I'm astro'ing here, forgive me) they seem to know when Arya is lying. Even when they probably couldn't know. But they didn't know about Needle. Do they know, and allow her to preserve that? Or is them knowing things just a plot device, and so is her hiding of Needle?
The best faceless men are all Sicilian and know the pantomimes.

Also if they can be anyone why wouldn't they be keeping an eye on a new trainee in the guise of pretty much ANYONE for all the stuff she is doing on her rounds/assassinations but she was totally alone for the needle thing so they may not know that.

Well I'm sure their manpower is finite and they have shit to do. The whole point of giving her some freedom is to see if she uses it wisely.

I somewhat concur.

The faceless men are mysterious but they aren't fucking omnipotent. They have no idea she buried needle instead of tossing it unless they ask her and her tell gives her away. And they'd have no reason to ask unless she does or says something to betray that she isn't taking the teachings to heart and she is doing all of this to further her own need for vengeance. Which will likely happen immediately after her Polliver kill (mercy chapter from Winds) which is the equivalent to that Trant kill in the TV show.

In the books the blinding is just further training, to interact with your surroundings with senses other than your eyes. And she shortcuts that too by warging (Another thing they have no way of knowing about her, not that she even really understands it herself), and they pass her along to the next tier of training even though she clearly hasn't mastered that step of the training.

So yeah, she will either get booted from the order as a half trained assassin without the face powers and remain Arya, or most likely she'll keep faking it and eventually get an assignment in westeros, take a personal stake in it for the honor of her house and vengeance and such shit, and her interference for personal gain and lack of training and dedication will prove her downfall, and GRRM will kill yet another stark just because ppl make fun of him for being old and fat and likely to die before he finishes the series.

I don't see the Faceless Men abiding failed apprentices out in the world at large, just from a competition standpoint. Someone near fully trained but lacking the ability to change faces could still be a highly effective assassin for hire that could be a bargain of an alternative to their services. Exactly how many mentions have their been of known wash outs from the House of Black and White? I think Arya will reach a point of no return where she either completes her training and begins a new life as no one or is put down the way Ned dealt with Lady.

From a show perspective I do not "get" or have seen that the faceless are just assassins for hire to anyone who has enough money. To me as a show watcher they seem to have their own motives of who to kill / assist based on their devotion to the faceless god or whatever, and also offer mercy water killing to grow their face collection. Also thanks to the Scooby do moment it looks like you have to have "the faces" to use them... except Jaqen was there and so was Arya? so having to "have the face" to do it can be up in the air- maybe final fully trained faceless men don't have to have "face masks" or whatever they are.

No they're definitely more of a death cult than a "mere" assassins guild. That doesn't mean they would willingly surrender their position of being able to demand a price for their services that would make a king balk or allowing people to leverage their province to advance their personal agenda over that of the cult.

I think like most fictional 'assassins guilds' it's best not to think too much about it. They have some shitty fortress in the middle of Bravos. If they aren't corrupt they probably kill a lot of people in bravos much like Arya was instructed to kill that insurance dude. The powerful in Bravos don't want to have a guild they can't control that has power over life and death of them, so it's just a matter of time before their shitty fortress gets burnt to the ground. You could argue that nobody would do that because the faceless would then assassinate them, but at some point it becomes worth it if the wrong person in power gets offended enough.
