Truth. Its like wings with ranch -- you may like them but theyre not buffalo wings unless they have bleu cheese. Or that round lasagna dish they serve in chicago -- might tasty, but its not pizza. Red pepper "pesto" is tasty but needs a different name.
look at this fuckin guy.

but I do agree with you on bleu cheese.

We're going to a Super Bowl party this year and that usually never happens... what should I bring?

Chicks with big titties?
and beer. The kind in a can.

If you want to bring serious eats, however, try finding a home made slider recipe, and you'll be a hero.

Bring beer and a few boxes of pizza. You will be a star, unless youre going to some hippy vegan party shit.

First major meal in my formal "learn to cook" adventures.

Rosemary and Garlic Roasted Potatoes
Boiled Spinach
Ramsay's "Perfect" Steak

It was a couple hours of work but pretty fucking awesome. I'd do the potatoes and steak again, but wasn't really impressed with the spinach.

I do potatoes like that all the time, but I put rosemary and thyme on them. Those are the potatoes that my daughter literally vomited up rather than be forced to eat even one. God dammit I was pissed. But they taste delicious.

Your steak looks good, I prefer it a little pinker than that probably but maybe not, with pictures and lighting it is hard to tell. I never did like boiled green, they just look slimy and gross to me.

yeah I could have pulled the steak a little earlier. I was playing with the touch method, need to do it some more.

I'd say you did pretty well then. At least you didn't kill it. (Overcook)

Speaking of killing, today is butchering day. The weather is not cooperating, it's 61F, which is pretty warm for butchering. They (the family, extended family) are doing beef today. Pigs in March.

If you've never had a chance to go butchering, I'd encourage it. We aren't this year since we're pretty well stocked up in the freezer.

I never could stand butchering, fucking ugh.

I do miss raising your own livestock and having multiple deep freezers full of beef/pork/chicken though

I'm thinking of building a small barn on my property and actually raising my own livestock for butchering. I think I'd do cow, chicken, pig, lamb. Maybe I should consider ostrich, too.

I'd do my own slaughtering. I've done it before, and it's no big deal. Nice to teach the kids where meat comes from, too.

It just looks like it's been cooked on. Shiny pans don't make the food any better.

Hahaha, I usually use parchment paper but I was lazy. And yeah its just well used, but clean nonetheless. And its aluminum, no rust, mate.
