With the schools cancellation and a slow morning, I decided to make something fun this morning. Breakfast pizza. I'd never done it before. Came out delicious, and not hard to do at all. Plus, any form of pizza is something my kids will all love. I used this recipe (kinda)

I had no idea this even existed until I saw in Costco last weekend:

Made some stir-fry last night with it. Fucking amazing.

Orange sauce is easy to make, though, and then you can control flavours and heat as you like.

Speaking of which, that reminds me of this recipe for crock pot orange chicken. Super easy and good.

I'm kind of skeptical about the ingredients here. But I'm definitely going to give this a try, I love some orange chicken.

I did the slow cooker "kfc" chicken today. I have no idea why that is called kfc chicken. But it tastes really good. Definitely a keeper.

I thought it was pretty good. Honestly, I prefer just a roasted chicken, and I have NO idea why they called it KFC chicken. I never had KFC's baked chicken though... do they still have it?

I used the leftover chicken to make some good chicken and noodles though.

It did occur to me that was the first time I have ever cooked with cardamom. Weird ass spice.

Yeah, like 15 bucks for the ground up shit, I was kind of shocked at that. Now I have to use it since I bought it.

I think they called it KFC just for the draw. I think the woman who came up with it just got sick of hearing her kid complain about not being able to eat KFC so she fed her a lie. Literally.

I also made the "KFC chicken" over the weekend. It was decent and the spices penetrated the meat pretty effectively, but I am not sure why you wouldn't just roast the chicken with the same spice mixture.

I was planning on taking it out early and putting it under the broiler, but that shit was just falling off the bone so I was unable to make the transition to the roasting rack. I missed the crispy skin

Well I liked the chicken falling off the bone. I pulled it all off and shredded it. It reminded me of chickens done in a smoker at a barbecue place. I am sure a roast chicken would be good with that spice mixture, but it wouldn't be the same thing really.

Ouch, dude. Are there no international groceries by you? The closest here is about 45 min., but worth the drive just for the spices.

Mexican groceries
Indian/Paki groceries
Chinese/Asian groceries

All are great pit stops for spices.

We actually have a Global Food very close, I've never been there though. I should go there and get a durian and report back.

if its the same KFC Chicken, I heardan NPR interview with the woman and she said her kid has celiac disease and has never had the chance to eat KFC, so she came up with a gluten-free recipe and called it KFC for her kid.
