I'm definitely not poo-pooing the dip, but the mushroom soup is throwing me off. I guess it shouldn't, I do like pepperoni and mushroom pizza. Maybe cheddar cheese soup?

Try using thighs next time. Chicken breast is one of the more bland substances on the planet.
I actually ended up taking the shredded chicken and re-cooked it this morning in onions and garlic on a simmer for about 20 minutes, I added some more seasoning and it turned out really well. I made a few sandwiches for some co-workers out of if and they were a big hit. I'll just do that next time when they get done poaching.

Thanks again Mkopec for your methods it turned out pretty fucking divine.

Water chestnuts are the celery of Asian cuisine. No flavor, 90% water, they're basically just there to provide a different texture.

I made the crock pot orange chicken last night, so I can't do that.

I think I'm going to do a pork and udon soup. Wanted to do it a few days ago and didn't.

There is not a single water chestnut in my house, but I do like water buffalo, though.

Hot and sour soup has always been my favorite. I tried a recipe I found on youtube and it came out great, (Actual dude in a restaurant it looked like making it on the video) but it was a shit ton of work and gathering ingredients at my local China food shop to make it. I would rather jut buy it next time, lol.

Thats the thing about some of those Asian and Indian etc.. dishes is that it usually ends up more trouble and costs more for you to make it rather than just going and buying it.

I just can't do canned cream of mushroom soup anymore. I refuse. Luckily from making green bean casserole for Thanksgiving for a few years, I can easily make it from scratch and it is a million times better (cue someone tearing down my food hipster bullshit right about now).

If you're looking to impress at a Super Bowl party definitely do these:

At the end, when you put them into the slow cooker to keep warm, add maybe 1/4 cup of real maple syrup and bring them to your party. They are out of this world and they will easily be the first things gone, I guarantee it.

I donated my sous vide to starving children in Africa so they can have a properly cooked piece of pork for once in their miserable lives. When I make green bean casserole it is more of a statement on green bean casserole than anything. The most difficult part is incorporating all the creme fraiche.

The mushroom soup is just to change the texture, it doesn't have much flavor. Cream cheese is too thick for dip. If it bothers you just make bechemel sauce and stir in the cream cheese which is pretty much the same thing.

Also, be sure to call them by their proper name, MEAT CANDY, around the bros. They will get the ladies wet (and sticky)!

Just got confirmation from my friend, the pepperoni dip is pepperoni, cream of mushroom soup and cream cheese. Bake at 350, mixing occasionally it til it starts to bubble.

You're gonna like the way it tastes. I guarantee it.

When I lived out at K-State, one of the local bars served their own chips and queso and man, was it delicious. This old lady that waitressed there used to make it, and she refused to tell me what the secret ingredient was until right before I moved away.

I never knew for sure if she was BSing me when she told me to use cream of mushroom or not, and I've never built up the nerve to actually try putting cream of mushroom soup in queso.
