What are you looking to improve on? What do you think would be better with the electric one?Well thats exactly what I do now and it sucks.
Same here.I have a double basket electric fryer. I think it's 6 quarts? I used it like 3 times and then put it away forever. It is literally the biggest pain in the ass to clean and keep usable for little benefit. The french fries and wings I made with it certainly were better than sticking them in the oven, but not so much better that it made it worth the hassle.
.There's a reason you don't fry much at home and it isn't because you don't have an electric deep fryer.
I think I want that. You could always get a propane fish fryer and use it outside.
Let nature deal with the stink
Electric ones hold temperature automatically. You can also leave the oil in them and use it several times, which you don't usually do if you're using a wok or skillet. Less mess, less cleanup, takes less skill and knowledge of cooking. There are several advantages. What are you looking to improve on? What do you think would be better with the electric one?
The temperature thing is sort of true, but mainly you just don't know what the temperature is so you assume it's holding. I don't agree at all with the less mess and less cleanup, and you're not going to leave the oil in it unless you're using it multiple times a week in which case you could leave the oil in your wok or stock pot as well. Tall sides plus this thing mostly takes care of spatter. I have an electric fryer collecting dust in my basement and it sucks ass.Electric ones hold temperature automatically. Maybe it's my lack of a basement that has me biased. I can't hide my little shitty deep fryer anywhere! The temperature thing is sort of true, but mainly you just don't know what the temperature is so you assume it's holding.
