Half the fun (for me) of cooking is going out and buying the ingredients; whether it's just to the grocery store or you make the extra effort to hit a farmer's market, picking your ingredients is a very enjoyable part of the process. I wouldn't want to be hand delivered the exact amounts of the exact ingredients needed to cook an exact recipe.
Agreed. Grocery shopping is one the parts I enjoy about cooking. Not to mention, you'll have leftover ingredients to make other recipes with when you shop for your own stuff.

That blue apron stuff is for people who want people to think that they like to cook, not people who actually like to cook.

There's a local food co-op here, they do some of the same things that Blue Apron site does. They also just offer shares so that you can come and pick up local produce, milk, and so forth. The stupid thing is, it's exactly the same vendors as the local farmers' market, and the price is roughly triple.

Stupid freaking yuppie foodies who think they're cool driving the price of local foods.

Ya'll gots to try this chicken. The flavor is insane on this marinade. I don't want to eat another kind of chicken again!

Would that work out well for chicken quarters? Bought some chicken quarters over the weekend because they were what I thought to be cheap at $0.99 a pound, versus breasts at $3 per lb, but now I'm not 100% sure what to do with them.

Suppose a little BBQ sauce slathered on while grilling them never hurt nobody!

Limes are expensive as shit right now. $1 per lime at some stores around here and they are the size of golf balls. Fuck that.

Yeah, I had to buy a couple last weekend and thought the same thing. Must be a shitty lime harvest or something!

Yeah, shit's crazy.

In Mexico And U.S., Lime Lovers Feel Squeezed By High Prices : The Salt : NPR

A combination of factors has affected Mexican production. Heavy rains late last year in the states of Michoacan, Guerrero and Veracruz hurt the crop. And in Colima, a big lime-producing state, a bacterium is infecting trees.

With supply tight at home, exports across the border are getting more and more expensive.

I make a dish similar to that Cuban chicken, but with less orange juice and some hibiscus flowers and ginger. It's fucking baller.

Because unless you're cooking 100lbs of shoulder with a heat lamp, more than half that time is wasted. All the collagen turned into gelatin by the probably the 16 hour mark, maybe sooner.

Maybe he was trying to get rid of the gelatin too. He hates gelatin!

That's the idea smart guy, the collagen in pork is tough and stringy, turning it into a gelatinous consistency is what makes the pork tender as it stays connected to the meat.

Unless you prefer gnawing on connective tissue, in which case we'll just have to agree to disagree.
