Made some pretty bomb steaks last night, here's my recipe:

Steak
Salt
Pepper

Grill to desired non-boot level of doneness.

Came out great.
I did the exact same thing last night. Only difference is I haven't cleaned my grill in a while, so I started a huge fire with hilarious results.

Do you guys clean before or after you grill? I like to do it before because after I am done grilling, the last thing I want to do is clean it. Usually crank it up to high and let everything burn before I do any grilling, then clean then cook.

Same here. Heat it up, "clean" and then cook, for exactly the reasons you list. There's almost always alcohol involved too, so I definitely don't want to clean it after.

Fuckin noobs

The steak was at room temp, and then salted and peppered. It was tip steak which is my favorite right now.
Tri-Tip? Ball Tip? Or just Tip?

Spill the deets my main man!

Also, for the value, tip style steaks are definitely a go-to for me for larger events where I need to still make shit not-boot status.

I got some apple scrapple bread (or what ever it is called) from The Bread Smith, and made French Toast with that. Family loved it. I don't care for sweet desserts, but the flavours were good.

I usually don't clean too much, but when I do, it's before cooking while the cast iron grates are hot. I only clean if I do something with sauce on it, which is only chicken.

Coincidentally, my wife decided to clean the grill last night and empty some ash. She cleaned so well, in fact, she cleaned a 4" hole in the bottom of the grill. Gravy gets a new grill.

Henchforth, in keeping with the elitist theme, french toast will be referred to only as 'Pain Perdu'. Thank you.

Damn, thanks for the reminder about Memorial Day meat sales. With it being a long weekend, I think I'll do a pork butt. I was planning on ordering some cherry wood so this will be a good thing to try it with. Anyone got any rubs recipes that'd go good with a cherry pork butt?

And I'd love to make challah again, but I think my wife is tired of my baking. In the past 4-5 weeks, I've made 3 pizzas (hand made dough), challah, zucchini banana bread, pretzels, and chocolate chip cookies. It's like carb overload. That's in addition to my normal protein muffins that I make every 5-6 days. Oh, and I'm going to do scratch ravioli in a brown butter balsamic sauce sometime this week.

Damn son, not even cake pops?

I'm kind of in your boat, I think the sweetest thing I get regularly is this Green Machine Naked juice at the store.
Yeah, not even cake pops. No love of chocolate, or ice cream, or anything. Give me a cheese course for dessert. That's better for me!

Got a recipe for the protein muffins?

I've done French Toast with old pumpkin bread and banana bread. Both were outstanding, but almost more like eating dessert than a meal. So much sweetness.

Don't pepper before grilling, pepper burns. I salt before grilling, and pepper right as they come off the grill, before I rest them for 5-10 minutes.

I also slap a pat of butter on the steak while it rests. Damn delicious, melts right into the steak.

His wifes grill might not be able to get up to the temperature of a mans grill and burn the pepper.

I guess just tip, I don't even know where I would find that hipster tri-tip shit around here.
