Yeah, parchment is nice. My mom never used it growing up, so I'm still scarred of childhood memories trying to depan a cake and basically ripping it in half. I remember my angst about that episode now. He never explains why he doesn't like springform for sweet cheesecake only. Why is he ok with them for savory cheesecake(those exist?)?
Savory Cheesecakes are awesome, I make a smoked salmon one that's pretty awesome.

Cheese cake is AWESOME(one of my absolute must avoid making foods).

Lately I've been on an Italian kick, I found a recipe for sauce and it helped me to, finally, like Italian foods. Pro-tip: avoid ALL bottled/canned spaghetti-style sauces. I'm completely surprised all of that shit doesn't completely turn people away from Italian cuisine.

Before that I was eating mostly Asian inspired foods(pro-tip: adding pineapples to damn near every Asian dish makes it awesome... I have no idea why).

Because all you taste is pineapple. Flavor of pineapple is way too assertive for savory dishes. "Hawaiian" pizza should be never made. Just have ham pizza with a size of pineapple. Or put the pineapple on your desert.

Marinara is the backbone of a lot of Italian food, but you never tried something that didn't require red sauce? Linguine alfredo? Bruschetta? Caprese salad? Antipasto?

I've tried it, but it's all been absolutely awful. Obviously I've never been to Italy though, so I can't say without whatever that I've had authentic Italian. But everything I've tried in the USA has been fucking terrible.

The pineapple isn't ALL I taste in Asian dishes, I just find it complements it super well(Asian sauces tend to be a bit overwhelming in my opinion, so it at least gives a flavor that is noticeable).

Ninja edit: To be fair I do love pineapple, but by itself I 100% agree that is very in-your-face.

Jamie Oliver's Double nut cholocate torte - thing is delicious but fucking expensive. The ingredients cost me 40 USD total.

Come at me bro. Pineapple just doesn't belong on pizza. Flavor is too strong and clashes with everything else.

Quick, find me some other common dishes where pineapple is combined with one or more of the following: tomatoes, bread, or cheese.

I'm betting the only ones you find are pineapple salsa(sweet salsa is a whole other gripe) or pineapple bread pudding. Which doesn't count because I said it's fine in desserts.

Oh and fuck you saying that hawaiian pizza should never be made. That shit is GLORIOUS.
as the board's native Hawai'ian representative, we renounce all ties to said shitty pizza combo and deny any and all responsibility to it's creation. furthermore we are insulted it bares our name and demand reference to our state be removed from any further use as a description for that travesty of a toppings choice.

We do admit that Chop Suey and Teriyaki are both ours and are proud to say so

I'm not the biggest fan of hawaiian pizza, but I think pineapple and marinara taste great together. If it tasted bad it wouldn't be as popular as it is.

Pineapple is awesome and as long as things aren't totally covered in it, the flavor meshes well. Like Brutal said, Pineapple and Marinara taste fantastic together.

Oh and I love baked ham with pineapple on it. nomnomnom

I'm not a big fan of Pineapple pizza but it's amazing on Domino's fiery Hawaiian pizza IF they don't fuck it up which happens about 90% of the time, so I usually don't even bother.

Lamb shank stew cooked in a dutch oven with red wine reduction sauce served over cous cous. takes 3 hours but well worth it.

Yeah, I disagree that the sweet of pineapple belongs on pizza. Caramelized onions is about the max you should go, and even that can be overkill if you put too many on. Jarred pizza sauce has ruined palettes.
