On the bright side, chaos, you should be able to get into really good shape cutting out all bread and beer!

Russets are the best for frying as opposed to reds or whites, for Americans. AB said it something about the starch/wax content ratio or something.

I've heard the euro's use the Golds for them pomme frits

Oh GOD DAMMIT I didn't even realize I can't drink beer anymore until you wrote that

God damn you joeboo, god damn you to hell

jesus christ this is the worst thing that ever happened to anyone in history
Wheat allergy, not a gluten allergy right? Avoid Hefeweizens and you should be fine. Most beer is made with barley, not wheat.

Props to you, I didn't even have that fucking register.

edit: there are a few styles that use wheat (wheatwine, durrrrr), but most of the beer should be fine.

Had a co-worker that went through this a few years ago, night and day difference in his quality of life, so it will be worth it. His skin would look painful just to look at it but after a bit it was like a whole new person.

Yeah, I guess I should add that some beers will add a touch of flaked wheat to the grist to help with body and head retention. But finding "Barley, Hops, Water, Yeast" beers should be easy. Carapils (a lightly modified malted barley) is a much more commonly used grain for body/head retention.

Alright, I tore up the suicide note then after reading that. Most online resources for wheat allergy are just copypastad gluten-free shit, thus the initial confusion. Apparently barley and hops have gluten or something, I don't know the particulars. I have a headache and feel tired as fuck. But hey, I don't want to peel the skin off my legs with a razor, so that's something. It is just so weird, your whole life you don't have to deal with anything like this then out of nowhere here it is. Whatevs Imma start drinking bulletproof coffee and get fuckin SWOLL SON

Barley has gluten. There is a new(ish) product on the market called ClarityFerm. It was originally intended as a clearing agent but it has since been discovered that it reduces the gluten in beer to undetectable levels, way below the threshold food is required to get below to be labeled as gluten free. Supposedly this results in a much better product than using actual gluten free grain in place of your typical malted barley, some claiming the beers made with ClarityFerm are indistinguishable from their base beers. These beers cannot be labeled as gluten free because the rules covering alcoholic products are different than those that cover food, so they are all labeled as gluten-reduced.

The Omission series of beers has been made with this technique, but they are made by Widmer who are (imo) just a middle-of-the-road brewery. Stone's new Delicious IPA is also made using ClarityFerm and I thought it was pretty tasty. Better than the Omission stuff and way better than the actual gluten free beers. Since it is a new recipe it is tough to say if there were any flavor effects at all. In the very near future I plan on brewing up a 10 gallon batch of beer that I will split, half using ClarityFerm and half using my regular gelatin routine to clear the beers to see if I can notice any difference when drank side-by-side.

TL;DR- There is a new technique that is supposed to produce not-ass-tasting glutenfreereduced beer.

Weird allergies can definitely show up later in life. My dad and his twin brother both became violently allergic to Chocolate in their mid-30s. Ate it all the time growing up as kids with no issues, now they can't hardly even smell it without getting sick. My dad has to leave the house if chocolate chip cookies are baking in the oven, makes him nauseous.

Roasted that duck tonight. And cooked up a yellow curry aloo gobi to add it to. Might be the best thing I've ever cooked for myself. And I overcooked the cauliflower and potatoes a bit so next time it's going to be even better.

Anyone here use or have a Tandoor oven for home use? Are they worth it? I love Indian food and I really wanna make me some tikka masala.

Whole foods finally opened across the street from me, traffic is a nightmare, there are some good sales for now, got a free range chicken for 99c a lb, looks like we're having chicken for a while. The good looking MILFs are nonexistent tho, wtf? (i'm literally sitting on my porch looking out and i see hags coming out of these SUVs)

Whole Foods has a similar audience to Trader Joes, just more financially well off. You'll see the occasional attractive woman in yoga pants, and then you'll see a bunch uggo hipsters/hippies/old people who read that gmo eggs turn you into an oompa loompa. At least that's the general experience I've had with them here in SoCal.
