Mandolins make everything better, right up until you have the raised grade set and you brush a thumb over it. Then you hate them. Early cooking mistakes 101 =/I'll occasionally fry up some potato chips and a mandolin makes it so much better.

If it could shoot them into a turkey fryer a few hundred feet away, I'd pay a mint for it.What will you do with your excess potatoes? I think it's time to invest in a potato gun. Or better yet, a kitchen version that juliennes them as it shoots!
